Default More Trouble for Creative Assembly

Anyone see Gamespots review of Stormrise? Worst score I've ever seen. 2/10 is 'Big Rigs' territory.

"Developer Creative Assembly has built an entire product around a fundamentally flawed control scheme and neglected almost every important facet of the RTS genre. Embarrassingly busted pathfinding, infuriating interface problems, abysmal mission design, substandard visuals--these unpleasant elements and many others make the whole thing an unseemly mess".

So who's the first fanboy thats gonna post that its really ok because they will patch it soon... or its a work in progress.

Not for second tier title anyway. C'mon, we all know the fix was in as far as ETW hype.

Wow. IMO they should focus all their efforts into producing great TW games. If they cant make a great TW game... they may just expand them selves right out of the games business.

    Wow, 2.0... that sucks.

Gamespot isn't the most rts-friendly site IMO. Or even PC-friendly. They gave Empire a much lower score than just about every other reviewer out there.

I think CA should just stick to the TW series, and work on just one game at a time, that way, more people can work on a TW game and fix more of the bugs and add more functionality before shipping.

good. maybe they can just throw that game under the boss and concentrate on nothing but fixing ETW now.

Yeah we have a thread on that:

IGN ripped it apart too (4.2 I think). But GS really surprised me. Most reviews fell within fair and bad, but 2/10 is just awful. At least they're honest.

Funny, but at points I thought he was reviewing Empire, such as when he talks about bad path-finding, ranged units running into the enemy rather than shooting at them, and combined units into a group not functioning as a cohesive group. Wonder if CA had the same Devs work on both games?

I'm not surprised that it bombed.
The first gameplay video showed a boring and shallow console RTS.
CA should stick with the total warrior series instead when it comes to consoles.
Viking was pretty good even if it was repeative.

I didn't have high hopes either, but I didn't think it would be this bad. At least critics are singing praises for ETW so they can throw this out and forget about it.

Viking was a little more than repetitive.

Who cares about Gamespot, they probably gave them 2 out of 10 because they didn't buy advertising. That game would have easily been a 6.4 with a lot of advertising.
