Custom Battles: I've heard of sea horses, but...

Everytime I try to run a custom battle I find that the map is nothing more than a wide shallow lake. The only units that deploy are horsemen, no others appear.

What happened to the maps?

1. did you have a clean mtw kingdoms?
2. try a diff maps it works fine for me might be a instal problom I would try to renstal If that does not work I dotn know.

do the campaign maps work?

The campaign maps work fine. I just had Aetius tank his way through the Visigoths just fine and proper, fighting each battle myself.

I've been trying various maps (thankfully my computer loads pretty fast unlike my laptop), but to no avail. I've modded back in the green arrow indicators, could they be causing the problem?

Interestingly, I also have intermittent sea battles in the custom maps and now cannot start a new campaign - once I select it the loading screen defaults back to the main screen. This has only happened since I installed the recent patch.

The custom battles are based on the old MTWII map. There are at least 8 custom battle maps that don't work, start the battle in the sea or a river. I have new custom battle files ready to release. 8 of the original maps that work fine plus approx 27 new maps that work. I am just finishing creating the preview screens and the map files will be ready to release. Be assured, the IB2 team is working hard on fixes and improvements for another IB2 patch.

The campaign maps should all be fine.

SBH, did you install the patch over the previous IB2 download? That is how I installed mine. Should work fine. I am fighting through a campaign with the WRE, have played several custom battles testing the new maps and almost finished the 1st post of my AAR. No crashes or errors so far. I am also running vista if anyone wants to know.

Yes I installed over the original beta. I can load and play the WRE campaign I was playing before the upadted mod files were installed but now I have odd sea battles and cannot play a new campaign. Using Vista, also. I might re-install the original again and see what happens!

Sorry, been out of town for a while. My girlfriends father just recently passed and we went to visit her mother and sister.

I have yet to have time and sit down to play again, I haven't done the patch yet.
