Thread: French (Bourbon) Mod

  1. #1

    Icon2 French (Bourbon) Mod

This is a French Re-Skin Mod for my own pleasure which improves historical accuracy. If anyone else is interested, feel free to use it. (NB: This is just a patch file that just reskins existing units)

Focus is on French Bourbon / pre-1789 (revolutionary) units that encompasse the majority of the ETW period.

The Skins are my best efforts (with the models provided) to replicate historical French units of the period.

    STATUS:

April 2012: Back tinkering. Hope to have a few new units in coming weeks. V0.93 have a reskined Line infantry and General unit, both WIP.

July 2012: French Unit Roster completed. Making final adjustments before uploading.

August 2012: Critical Hard Drive failure. Lost all work .. apologies to all

    DISCLAIMER:

As a perfectionist, I feel the need to mention that this is a work in progress and there are parts of each skin I am still not happy with. I hope to address each of these over time.

    V.91

    Grenadiers

    Foot Artillerie

    V.92

    Cuirassiers Du Roi

    Carabiniers

    Chasseurs à cheval

    Horse Artillery

    Chasseurs a Pied

    V.93

    Montcalm

    Gardes Françaises (maison du roi)

    Guard Artillery

    Download here

NB: This is a .patch file, so all one needs to do is download and save to your data file in Empire. If anyone needs a .mod file version, please let me know.

Update: I had to use LtChambers Mod manager to get this working again

sounds like you need an unpacked game

Others may know a better way of doing this but this is what I do:

    1. Grab LtChamber's Packmanager.
    2. Go to your Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\data. Find the Models.pack and open with the packmanager.
    3. Go to textures at the bottom of the list. "Extract" / backup a copy of the files with the same name included in the zip.
    4. "Replace" the relevant files with the ones in the zip.
    5. Save. (May take several minutes)
    6. Open and play ETW

Any chance of getting this as a pack file? Makes installation much easier.

I'm really looking forward to you next releases !
