    Default Révolution Française 1.1! with compatibility Patches for Quixote and Darth mods!



    I’m happy to release my first mod, « Révolution Francaise », which allow the French army to swap their uniform when a revolution happen.

    My work on texture is somewhat very basic since I’m sure there’re some better out there and retexturing the whole roster was a long task (even sepoys, natives, and other colonial troops are affected).
    Actually this feature work for both custom battle (late only) and the campaign.
    My goal is mainly to focus on the revolution gameplay (the French one) and to improve it or at least make it a little more consequent to manage.
    Since to allow the French army to swap uniforms on revolution was a feature I want for that mod and since some people would like to have it without altering the original gameplay, I’ve decided to release it as a standalone mod.

    I’m actually working on an add-on which will alter the gameplay and make a revolution to have a lot more consequences.

    -Fix missing drummers and bearers
    -Change the line infantry texture to be more historical.
    (French users can find the MrThib-RevolutionFrancaise_loc_fr.pack bellow to replace the MrThib-RevolutionFrancaise_loc_en.pack: "il vous faut quand même télécharger le mod dont le lien est au dessus" )

    How to install:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 
    Unpack the archive (you need winrar that can be found here) and copy the MrThib-RevolutionFrancaise.pack and the MrThib-RevolutionFrancaise_loc_en.pack to your empire data folder (in your Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\ ).
    Now, either use LTChambers mod manager (here) or copy the user.empire_script.txt to your script folder located here:


    Xp users: C:\Documents and Settings\[USER NAME]\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

    Vista users: C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

    I can’t make any guaranties of the compatibility of this mod with others (some feature could not be available).


    NEW PATCHES:

    -Patch for DarthMod Empire 0,5 (link bellow)
    [Use Darth Vader Unit_stat_land table for all french units]

    -Patch for Quixote: Imperial Splendor v1 (link bellow)
    [Use Quixote Unit_stat_land and units tables for all french units]

    NOTE: This patches need both the original mod from witch they're supposed to work and the "Révolution Française" mod.
    They should work with latter version of mod they're supposed to work for.
    For an unknown reason I had to change them to Movie format, so just drop the patch to your Data folder after you've extracted it with winrar (no need to activate it).
    Make sure "révolution française" is set to load after Darth or Quixote mods.
    The
    user.empire_script.txt must be saved in UNICODE format.
    Use one at a time or you could have conflict.


    Please, report any bug or mistake you can find so I can correct them.

    Know issues:
    -Some of the units present at the start of the campaign will not “swap”.
    -The default army in custom battle is the “old” one

    My ideas so far for an add-on are:

    -Make the diplomatic influence of a revolution far more consequent, since historically the other monarchies have highly feared the contamination of revolutionaries’ ideas and so tried to put a king back on the throne. The old alliance must break and some wars should be declared to the new republic.

    -Decrease the happiness of high classes of population (the nobility wasn’t really happy by those times).

    -Make that all the troops don’t swap automatically to the post-revolutionary ones, so that some stay loyalist to the old regime with a lower moral and the unavailability for the player to reinforce them to simulate the reforms of the army and the progressive replacement (understand witch-hunt) of the officers.

    I’m open to all suggestions concerning my ideas or new ones that can improve the overall revolution experience.

    You can use or modify and distribute this mod or part of it in any way you want; giving me the credit for the original work is appreciated through.
    If someone want to adapt their skins for this mod I’ll be happy to help them or to link them here.
    I will try to make some “patch” to add compatibility with others mods if people ask for it.

    I’m not a very good English user so if something is unclear or wrong please feel free to correct me.

    More or less... In the dark blue and red patern of the post revolution period (read napoleonic).
    But you should be able to replace them with others if you want (just replace euro by postrev and add _france at the end of textures names in a new pack).

    Waronmars mod will recolor the old uniforms, not the new (after revolution), but with a little adaptation it will work fine(changing the names of textures)

    Btw, the mod is in a mvoie pack, which means It will not show on mod manager, I changed it, but you will need to update so all versions are shown as mods.

    This is volontary, just the text files are in movie pack, the mod must be in mod format. Right now the text (unit name on screen) will not show if localisation.loc is in a mod (that's why it's in his ownm little pack).
    You will not have any screen name now, you must turn it back in movie, so there's just one mod to activate in mod manager (the heavy one 133 Mo).

    Yep, normalement ses unités sont 100% compatibles.
    Once there is a full pack of textures for post-revolutionary french I'll ask his creator to adapt it for this mod (I've other texturing project for now; this was just a fast not so in detail one).
    Please post your feedback when you've tested it, I'de like to know what you think.

    i have an idea/suggestion:
    its just the hats that bother me..maybe u could try to
    change line infrantry that it would actualy be a modified and reskinned
    version of tiralleurs (they seem to have the proper hat shape)?

    Sounds interesting, but alas will most likely not be compatible with Darthmod or Quixote's.

    Anyway... thanks a lot ! Ca fait toujours plaisir de voir des révolutionnaires ne portant plus l'uniforme blanc des armées du Roi.

    I will ask to Quixot and Darth if they accept that I release a patch that make it compatible ... tomorrow...
    @Zanno:
    This is a great idea, but I'm not going to texure the french right now, my ottomans are still waiting, this mod was more to provide the switch uniforms when revolution than a skin pack. But I'll keep this in mind.

    This is awesome, I will put my Republican French textures in and make some pre-revolution textures...will be sooo good

    The royalist keep the vanilla names, for the revolutionaries, just replace euro_ by postrev_ and add _france at the end if that's no here already (exept for specific french units, don't add france).
    Can't wait to see it!
    I'll post a list with the textures names tomorrow.
    So the texture are enough (this mod already have unmodded gloss and normal for all units)
