Not quite sure what you mean with "not replacing the existing ones", a unit can only have one unit-card which is tied to that unit.
Anyway, I'm not a hundred percent sure how to do this, but I think you do it this way.
Enter units_tables and locate your unit. When you've done that, scroll to the right until you find the model name of that unit, like "new_unit_infantry". I believe the column next to that one contains the icons, as the other units all have entries ending with _icon in those rows. So just put your new icon in the "data\UI\units\icons" folder (save it as .tga), and enter the name of the icon in your unit's row.
Idid exactly what you said but the game didnt read my icon, there are two chances here, 1rstly my icon couldnt be read by the game(different format) althought i made some tests and i am almost sure thats not the case, and secondly i will have to make a mask icon witch i cant.
I think there might be a path inside some document file that tells the game were to put the icons
I have found the info you want, it's located in the units db file, there's one entrie with clear statements about this like:Euro_Carabiniers_icon_cavc that refers to the tga files.
Τhanks thib , i know this part ,but when i put my own icon the game doesnt read it, i think there is somewhere else a file that tells to the game from were to draw the icon
I'm positive that it works, I've done it right now.
It's the second unknow column with this sort of informations, I suspect the others to control the details when right clicking a unit.
And don't foget to put the icons in your mod.
can somebody please explain why my unit card is white. I suppose its because i need like a mask or sumthing? Any help?
bump
nvm i fixed it. I hadnt added a seperate mask file.
