Hmm, this "might" be interesting. The first Vietcong game was ok, but not the best. If they add ragdoll physics, better blood, better graphics, and less bugs, I'll buy it.

The first one had one of the worst engines ever.
Seems like no matter how good your computer is it is still choppy.
Hope they get it right this time.

I've been looking for a good vietnam game for ages.
I can only hope this game will end my long wait.

The first Vietcong is the only Vietnam era game I like so far, story-wise. If they can gather the feel with a brand new engine then it's something I'll be looking into.

There isn't really a flood of Vietnam games.
And besides none of them has been any good so the door is still open for any company to make the best Vietnam game.
A WWI game would be cool.

There have been at least 5 in the last year. None of them were good.

Amen, brother! :w00t I have never, ever, ever seen a WWI FPS in all my life. But think how great it could be! Massive battles, charging trenches, fighting to survive, working with your teammates, following the idiot's orders and charging the Somme and getting slaughtered ...

If it wasn't strictly an FPS game, that could be cool too. Like, if it could be half FPS half flight sim or summat! And you could use primitive tanks, too!

I've fantasized a lot about a WWI game ... but I doubt they'll ever make one ... the focus seems to be on World War II/Vietnam. :crying

Cool, I enjoyed the original Vietcong despite the bugs etc, just wish there'd been more outdoor missions than crawling through miles of VC tunnels. If they fix what was wrong with the original I'll definitely be interested.

I loved "Vietcong", from the realistic weapon handling, over good AI down to a great variation of missions. Personally didn't have any bugs. The graphics were of course nothing to write home about but they were ok, the intense gameplay more than made up for it.
What they should do now is open up the levels, maybe give players a choice how to proceed, so the game doesn't feel so linear and confined any more. If all other qualities of the first part are preserved it's gonna be a great game.

And a WW1 FPS would be interesting, though you'd still have the problem of recreating the huge trench battles. 20 guys running over a strip of land won't do to capture the essence.

just a question : how many games do you buy per day ? *tongue* cause judging from your posts, you sound like you follow every preview of every game that I could name, and then some

To be precise, you can be both. There is a campaign for both sides.

Wow, someone in the industry finally gets the hint.

Battlefield Vietnam used to be my bread, butter and bedtime beer. I used to play it almost non-stop. I even started mapping for it, but the lack of support for it after 1.2 led me to leave the BFV community. I did love Eve of Destruction for it though, but even that I played more on BF1942.
I loaded BFV up again though the other day. The community seems to have collapsed though, and I could only find a few good servers.

Vietcong I thought was ace. Men of Valour, I only played the demo, but didn't like that. Its not Vietnam, but Pacific Assault was a fantastic jungle warfare game. You have firefights rather than running through the level hoovering up enemies. You got this SOMETIMES in Vietcong, but not nearly enough. I really look foward to VC2.
