Money is on the Jin. They are pretty much like the French in the original MTWII game. Decent infantries, good horse archers, crossbows, chinese siege weaponry, fire lance and cataphracts. Even in their final days their cavalry have a reputation of trouncing the mongols in their own game.

Otherwise Mongols by default.

I have no idea really which faction would be my favourite. Apart from stylized feudal Japan I have no real knowledge of Asia in practically no era. So I look to this mod with huge anticipation. No only for playing purposes but also as a learning help. I know it is not envisioned as 100% accurate history but getting some non-accurate info amongst a lot of true info is better than having no knowledge.

I'll pick the "Heaven" faction. None shall prevail against the Heaven Army, hence the name of the mod "All Under Heaven"... Anyway, I will try DaiViet first and then Japan, after that will be Korea.

All of you who picked Japan based on these Romanticized ideas will be very disappointed.

During this time frame, the samurai was in the very early stages of development. The bushido code of honor was in its infancy and katanas didn't even exist until 200 years after the Song Dynasty fell to the Mongols.

So in this mod, none of the Japanese samurai would have what can be considered as a katana, and their armor would not resemble the type you've seen in movies.

So instead of your typical sword swinging armored dude you seen in movies, samurai from this era would be more like a guy in leather armor on a horse carrying a bow and a spear.
