Is this possible? It would be really good to test unit retextures with -_-.

If you look in the threads there is a custom battle all faction unlocker that will enable all factions, BUT not all units, as there are Special Forces units that only came with the retail game
all factions is here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=234011
Yes, It's possible in custom battle, I'm using this actually for textures testing.
I think it's in the unit db where there's early and late availability, just activate all off them (I just have activated the late availabality) and that will work.
edit: you'll be able to have all units of one faction available for custom battle.
Yes its possible. Ive been using it for all my testing too. So much so that a custom battle as britain now has about 8 billion (not quite) infantry units to choose from.
I think you will have to seek and find the units you want into the files of the game and then put them as an additional unit, the units will pop up as additional ones into your faction
Hi guys. Just how you make all units available for custom battles? This units db? You need to unpack? I know that many units are not available focustom battles and it's really annoying!
yeah I want to know too
Waronmars talked about all units I mean. Can I see all units for a faction in the custom battle?
Now I don't think so, cause I saw a file for austrian hussars, which are not in, in custom battles. Thats surely easy to unlock the units in custom battle.

Making units available in battle mode for early / late is really easy in fact.
In the unit db there's an early availability / late availability box, just turn them on and that's it, all factions rosters for custom battles
idk what the heck yall are talking about. I'm guessing when ur in the map selection for custom battle you select early or late, I can't select all because it isn't an option.
re-read my post, that's possible to unlock all unit for any period in custom battle.
I'm actualy using this to test textures for having all units types at the same time on the battlefield.

MrThib, thanks for the answer but where is the unit db? Somewhere in the game files? I looked around and couldn't find anything like it...
It could be found either in the patch.pack or the main.pack in the db folder.
Ok, here goes:
in patch.pack open with PFM, then click on plus symbol and you will see "db" click on that then look for units_tables and then units file.
in there scroll right to where it shows early availabilty / late availabilty, type in True for each faction you wish to show in game!
save and thats it (oh, make back up of original patch.pack file just in case!!)

What program should I open the file with?
Oh dear, some complicated stuff... I do manage well with the txt files in M2 or RTW, or the preferences in ETW, but here we are going into Terra Incognita for me.
I did a search on PFM (pack files manager, right?) and I think I get it. But apparently it needs another program- .NET Framework 2.0. ? Quick search in the forum revealed nothing on that. Maybe its already part of Windows XP?
Thanks for the help MrThib and ToonTW but clearly this is new for me and the IT tech stuff is the real problem for me here. I hope I'm not too much a pain in the ass.
Download this program and use to open up the file:
