Default EUROPEAN WARS - first units preview!

'European Wars' - a mod which takes us in 18th century. It is an age of 'Empire: Total War' which was released in March 2009.'European Wars' will be a Historical-Realism-Mod for this game.

It's a first units preview of "European Wars" mod on Empire Total War. Preview is more historical than standard units in Empire TW.
I have made heavy cavalry units (Cuirassiers and Elite Guards) and Grenadiers. For example: French Mousqetaires, Russian Life Guards, Swedish Grenadiers. I want to say especially thanks for lesterthenerd, (and Ikusa IX, Yoda Twin). They made these screens. Units in renders have parts of Lordz.

NEXT PREVIEW -> Features and Battles

    SCREENS:

    Austria - Cuirassiers:

    France - Cuirassiers du Roi:

Poland - Augustus II the Strong's Grenadiers:

    Sweden - Carl XII's Grenadiers:

    Austria - Hungarian Grenadiers:

    France - Swiss Line Infantry:

France - Line Infantry, Regiment du Roi:

France - Mousquetaires de la Garde:

    Poland - Trabant Guards:

    Russia - Life Guards:

That requires modelling, and AFAIK we can't do that yet.

    Awesome work guys!!!

To be a bit critical (for your good) about the Swedish Grenadiers:
    - The hat should be golden (big golden plate on the front with details of a crown, "XII"-sign and grenades with the three crowns-sign inside and then a small plate on the back).
    - The cuffs, lining fabric and collar should be yellow, not orange.
    - Yellow gloves (if possible).
    - No details on the chest, only buttons.
    - Blue coat with yellow lining fabric, collar and cuffs.
    - The shirt under the coat should also be yellow.

I'm just a perfectionist so I'm sorry for pointing all of this out. Nothing personal.

    Again - AWESOME!

if not everyone, the majority of nobility,or at least aristocrats, favoured facial hair of one sort or another.the only real standing exception to this being the British, who never really sought much of a vogue for it in the lace wars era, save for thos that had served on the ma9inland and in foreign armies prior to their british Engagements

Really nice, finally some major mod has started and I really like to see that you added the Swiss mercenaries as well! I hope that most factions will be able to recruit some non-national units representing mercenaries.

What years are you talking about? I agree for maybe 1700-1720 that some mustaches were seen, but not entirely common. After that, any European gentleman would be clean-shaven, unless he was a military officer in a hussar regiment or other regiment where mustaches were required.

This is not true what you're saying. In the European armies in the 18th century most soldiers wore mustaches. Only in the British Army soldiers have clean shaven. British Army is the most frequently drawn therefore misleading impression that the mustaches were not common in the 18th century. In the armies such as France, Spain, Poland, Russia, Prussia, Austria and other countries of Germany, mustaches were very common. All European Cuirassiers (without Officers) and Hussars should have mustaches. CA committed a mistake that they made Cuirassiers and Hussars without mustaches. many regiments of cavalry, Grenadiers and Musketeers, mustache was required to wear in the armies of Europe. It was written in the rules of the various regiments. In this era of clean shave was civil fashion, while the mustache was a military fashion, so almost everyone except the British soldier wore them.

    Examples:

Villars (French Marshall), battle of Denain:

Saxon Cavalry, Cuirassier, Carabinier, Trumper and Officer:
    http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/6...iasaskati4.jpg

    Austrian Army (1700-1780):

    Austrian Infantry (1700-80)

Prussian Infantry from Seven Years War:

    Russian Infantry (1750-90):

Russian Cavalry (1750-90) Cuirassiers, Dragoons, Hussars, Horse Grenadiers:

    Spanish Army, 1740-80:

Irish Regiments in French Army, middle 18th century:

I have 2.000 pictures with European soldiers from 18th century, and 90% of them have mustaches.

    Thank You.
Golden caps in Swedish Army was the most popular in mid-18th century. In early 18th century blue-red colours of hat was popular, but golden caps used, too.

Most regiments wore yellow cuffs, lining fabric and collar, but some used: orange, red or white In mod I would like add few regiments for infantry, so Swedish Army will be have 3 regiments of grenadiers. There are examples:
    http://www.juniorgeneral.org/donated/pedro/norwar4.gif
    http://www.juniorgeneral.org/donated/pedro/norwar1.gif
I think that you wrote - shirt, but thinking about waistcoat? Most regiments wore white waistcoat, look in these pics. Only some have yellow waistcoat.
Now I can't add gloves, because only texture editing. At the moment modders can't open and edit units models.
I will change this: only buttons on the chest.
