Does anyone know how to make troops gain experience faster?

I personally think that it take far too long for an unit to gain experience, and that the game as it is makes green troops far more valuable then it is in real life. Does anyone know how I can change that?

Usually my units are promoted with one chevron after the first battle, and the second chevron after the third or fourth. I haven't seen any rank above two chevrons yet though.

it should be in the unit stat folder.... hold on... i am going to check it out later this evening... my computer is finally done so i am gonna install the game when i get home tonight
