    1) Both my army and the enemy play the same tune (which makes no sense)

Yes, its the one big draw back of this mod. Brigadier Graham produced a nation specific version, but it was much more involved to instal and for some reason I could never get it to work.

    2) Each unit is playing the fife tune such that it is not synchronised, which means one does not get to hear the tune clearly at all, it's more of a blurry racket of noise

True, although actually more realistic than you would think. Having played in a band there is a problem when more than one band get too close together, and one symptom in real life is that awful shrieking noise created by differently pitched instruments whose notes produce a sort of natural feedback loop against your eardrum. Normally parade organisaers make sure that bands are spaced widely to prevent this sort of effect.

Hi guys, I'm sorry that I've been neglectful to this mod. I was working on the music for Rome Total Realism VII and had, in all intent and purposes, wanted to revamp the sounds in this mod and create some new tunes. Unfortunately I had serious real life issues that had arisen that pretty much almost killed me. I'll be posting a new link in the next few days for you guys. I'm also considering composing new music for this, including new marches. I didn't think this old mod was still being used.

    A few things to remember...
-Only ONE music pack in your folder at a time.

-Music will be played by both sides during battle.

-The sounds of the instruments are VERY old. I had used my own home grown samples and have since the creation of this mod, vastly improved my sound library with professional quality sounds.

I'm not heavily into modding Empire at all, so I wouldn't even know where to start in making them faction specific. I'll look into it.

Thanks for your continued support and use of my mod!

To clarify on this, it sounds like a broken ice cream van.

Interesting... I wonder what the hell is up with that!? I'll re-upload again tomorrow night, not sure WTF is going with the link...

EDIT: It seems Oron's free service is down temporarily... well.. at least I hope it is.
EDIT #2: **Download is temporarily down, apparently Oron.com is in a massive copyright lawsuit and it seems their free service is frozen. I'll re-upload in the next day.**

@General - "Thanks for the link hollowfaith, and good luck overcoming your real life issues."
    Thank you my friend!

Theres nothing I can do about that (for now anyways). I made this mod a few years ago, and at that time I didn't have any decent samples to work with other than what I could capture myself from other sound sources. Also, there was no way, known at that time, in how to make each song play faction specific. It wasn't until the hard work of Brig and (I forgot the other chaps name, my apologies) found a way to make it so. I'm just returning to this mod and will improve all the sounds and songs with newer, more realistic sounds. I also plan on making new custom made marches and maybe some custom, optional menu and campaign compositions. It's been a while, so I have to relearn how to mod this game, LOL. I'm also looking into making it faction specific. Thanks.

    Thanks matey!

Well, the file is 287mb in size and I have no clue as to where to upload it. Mediafire sucks with only 200mb. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't think gamefront would work well for people who live in Asia, I guess....

    ModDB / Gamefront / Mediafire.

My broken ice cream van comment is not in relation to the actual sounds, they are fine, my problem with it is that each individual unit plays the tune but they do not do it in synch, they are playing the same tune at different times, causing "the broken ice cream van".

IMO yes it is realistic for each unit to play the tune, but one would think each unit would play in synchronisation with all others.

I value your efforts sir, I am simply putting forward some feedback.

They don't in real life. In fact getting more than one band to play the same tune in sync requires considerable practice and effort, and I've only ever seen it acheived by combining the bands under one drum major and practicing a lot before hand.

    I'll probably use Gamefront...
Mediafire is only a 200mb limit and my mod as it is now stands at 287mb.
Ah, I see. It's impossible to get the units to play in sync unless you had a designated music regiment, and it is more modding than I am unwilling to commit to at this point in time.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback!

As I recall the Brigadier mod used a dedicated bandsmen unit to act as the player of the music, which solved the problem, but cost a unit from your unit roster.

I have an idea. Why don't you use the Hjsplit to split the file into parts, so you can use Mediafire.

Yeah I thought about that, I don't like the thought of losing a precious slot for just a band unit though. We'll see, I'm still in the planning phase and gathering all my tools and noting things down. Thanks for the help matey!

    EDIT:
@Civilopedian - No thank you for using my mod. I never thought it'd still be used to be honest. Thank you!

@Conclamatus - I don't like separating files like that because it gets to be a pain. I personally hate multiple download files for one archive but if more people would rather have that, then I'll do it. Thanks for the help my friend.

Give the bandsmen unit an area of effect bonus to morale and negative effect on enemy morale. That'll make it worth using a slot.

Maybe they can level up based on time playing music vs bandsmen killed!

Well combing through all the mods and what not I came across this... http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=258091
Rsty made this mod a few years back, he hasn't been on twcenter since January of 2011, or I'd PM him for the OK to use his work. Since he's not available, I'm going to go ahead and use it anyways, I'll still give him credit of course.
Now... it's just a matter of sorting through this and figuring out what is what, LOL.

I began composition work on a newer main menu theme, which will be an optional download. I'll post some previews of it up soon.
