Duly noted, although text-work has always been my Achilles' heel if you like, and despite the amount of reference work and text tutorials I've gone through, I can't seem to nail it.


@Wildrek all I did was make a few duplicates of the layers, add ripple/ distort to them using various settings/psd files (respectively) and then erasing most of those layers with a soft brush at a low opacity. Gradient work and blending was just me tinkering about with various non-standard gradient maps.

Just under a year (thats excluding the 4 preceding months where I had it on my computer, going on it about twice and not making anything at all).

I first properly started learning in December 2008

I take that as a compliment (although for some reason I managed to cock up EVERY GC entry I make...)

I made the statement that people can request my .psd files partly for the purpose of learning, being able to take apart a sig layer-by-layer to see how it all fits (obviously have to figure out what's been done unless I can remember and name layers after effects applied)

However if you want, once all my mock GCSEs are over I could try and write up a few proper tutorials.
I think I might have to make a poll for that...

You know mate.. Why dont you talk to Ratbag and Abbews they are starting a PS basics course. Mayhaps you you and one of them could do an intermediate and advanced course.
