Hi - No ctds here and no problem.

Had a naval battle earlier, recorded it and will watch it for entertainment later.

Have taken to fighting my battles in slo-mo as I can appreciate the level of detail in the musketry and combat.

It fills an impressive spot - thank you!

I just went through a revolution playing as Prussia that was pretty interesting. As three of my provincial territories revolted one by one and workers went on strike elsewhere, I was forced to pull my armies back from just outside of Vienna,, which unleashed the Austrians on the countryside. My old regime army basically crushed Bavarian and Polish rebels in one turn (ironically with the help of ally Poland-Lithuania) but then my King died, leading Sweden to declare a war of succession. Same turn as this is happening Berlin went into rebellion. I sided with the rebels and took the capital -- "but only by a sword's edge. " Hats off to CA for a fun and quite dramatic sequence there! It's not over yet.

I have not had nearly enough play time, unfortunately I have school and work to slice my day up.

ETW only gets a small slice of that, and what little I can play I now cant because my campaign crashes everytime I try to load, even with workarounds.

However, other then the CTD I enjoy the game quite a bit when I get to play it, I think CA did a great job, I have been awaiting a game like this for so long, and what series to better have an 18th century war game?...Total War

Good enough for a game that uses a brand new game engine. Rough around edges but patches are coming....

    Default Empire is pretty popular

Last wednesday I was at this little game store Where I had ordered Empire the week before, the guy didn't order more then 2 copies from his suplier because he expected he would never sell moe then 2 coppies, it turned out that the game was completely sold out in my city within a day or 3 and he had about 10 people comming in asking if he had the game every day!

It kind of frustrated him hehe

Also what I noticed that day was the huge varriety of people comming in asking for the game, you had your tipycal nerdy types, but also some types you'd never expect to play pc games, or games at all and who you'd never never never expect to play strategy games like empire.

I told one guy to check out this forum about modding the demo

It's to be expected, this game has been hotly anticipated, over here in the UK it has had 2 covers over the last 6 months on the countries main PC gaming magazine (PcGamer). The hype has been quite big for ETW.

So that explains the large influx of new TW players: Divorced managers!

Thanks for sharing. I bugged my shop too. Only one day, Tuesday the 3rd, where I told him a competitor was having it on sale already. I did believe that actually, but later realized it was a Pre-order box I saw.

I didn't know that when I was in his store though. He was quite suprised and stated he was still waiting for his shipment and/or authorisation. Right...

I returned the next morning. The game was on sale, good man. I reckon he sold about 15 on the first day

You guys know the game kicked Killzone 2 off the top charts in the UK right? I think in a lot of other European countries too, and that doesnt even include digital distribution numbers like steam or d2d.

Need I remind you that outside the comunity ETW didnt have a 10 mile long hype train either. It's a huge win for PC gaming.

Theres alot of people that you wouldnt expect to play PC games or the type they play. I know quite a few Staff Sergeants, and above who play games like this and MMORPGs. One being like 6.5 feet tall weighing around 230-230 all muscled out. You'd be very surprised.

Default Nice Historical Detail in St Augustine

I live in Florida and have visited St Augustine many times, so you can imagine my surprise and delight when my British forces moved into the area in 1706 only to find a excelllent rendition of the Castillo de San Marcos in the game.

Oddly enough the Cherokees had already seized the fort from the Spanish, so I ended up taking it from a small band of native Americans.

But Kudos to CA for including such a detail and making the fort look much like it does even to this day. It was a special surprise after having seen so many other areas that - correctly - had little villages.

He's slowly closing down his pc games section because they don't sell as well as console, he also hadn't noticed anything about the empire hype so he didn't think this game would sell more then a few coppies, so he only ordered 2 so he wouldn't be stuck with a bunch of games.

Unfortunately for him, he could have made a killing, because by now the big stores probably resuplied

Just got the game today, and despite having to run it on lowest possible settings, I absolutely love it!

I'm finding the RTI surprisingly addictive. Although I tried a GC briefly but was a tad overwhelmed by the new features .

No CTDs or errors either, so I'm happy
