But you can build a school in every region anyway, you just raze a building you don't need in a town and in next turn you can build a school (in most towns anyway, consult building browser before destroying just to make sure what you can build in a particular town).

How can you raze a building? :hmmm:

when you click on a town, there should be 3 buttons to the right of the build menu. I think the middle one is to dismantle. Haven't tried it yet myself but I did see the option somewhere there.

Yes, as Pamme said. Click on the town, then you will find an icon with a flame, in the same place where you have the icons for retraining armies and appointing generals. The slot will be free on the following turn.
Be careful because you cannot build all the structures in every town, you can check that in the Building Browser. Of the 5 town types (weaver, ironworks, school, garden, church) you will find that you can chose only among 4 of them in each city. Furthermore, two of them will be upgradeable to level 4, the other two will be limited at level 3. You should try to build every structure in a town that allows for the maximum upgrade. Check on the Building Browser to get a better understanding.
