favorite naval battle setting?

I've been having good fun with the online naval battles, which setting do you guys like the most?

early with medium funds
early with high funds

late with medium
late with high

my favorite battle was the time the other guy pulled 23423 galleys in a early-medium. my second rate guys with grapeshot had a field day. :p

Naval battles are surprisingly very fun if you only use one or two ships each, especially with multiple players. You get into these intense mini-duels with your enemy.

THe big battles lack the epicness of a team battle consisting of 1-2 ships per person.

Biggest lolz Iv had is where we all dismasted each other and floated apart. None of us could shoot far enough to the reach the other team.

All my classic land battles are very smooth. I tried once a 4v4 1 ship only battle, it could have been fun if only it doesn't lag so much.

just did my first late period naval battle. I took several first rates and a few seconds, my plan was to have a big slugfest.

And the other guy took 15 rocket ships. And burned all my sails before I could even get close.
