how can i change sound and music ?
Hi,
My other thread:
Hello,
If like me, you think Empire's music is sub-standard, then I hope you will download the music mod I am currently making, hopefully using ancientxx's excellent unpacker.
The music I will use will be:
MENU:
Handel, Zadok the Priest
CAMPAIGN:
Handel, Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
Elgar: Pomp and Circumstance
Pachelbel: The one, the only, Canon in D Major
BATTLE:
Albinoni: Oboe concerto in D minor, 2nd movement (I wanted the third movement but couldn't get it)
NAVAL:
Unchanged, as of yet.
I have spoken at length with MasterAdnin about this, but who else is interested? Thanks!
Please bear in mind that I have other distractions on my time (e.g. playing my British campaign!), so it probably won't be done for a couple of days.
Ok but how do you do to change the music ?
Is there any instructions somewhere ?
the music only works packed, you need to repack the files after you have changed them
The sound!
Sound is a major factor in Emerson, and suspension of disbelief.
Basic wish list,
1. Reduce the marching sound on the battle map by 1/2 to 3/4, and remove the echo effect.
2. Increase the musket sounds by about 1/4, and also increase the range at which I can hear other muskets getting softer the farther away. I would like to be able to hear more of the battle raging around me.
3. Increase the vol of the music, bugles, and drum a little. I would love to hear the sound of the enemy's (England ) drums and command's being issued as they draw nearer to my position. Faint at first, but getting louder as they approach.
4. Melee, I think I'm in the minority here. I love the way it looks. I don't see the skating effect very much at all. I have unit detail set to ultra, that may be why. However the sound...I like the shouting roaring general melee sound in the background, but there is some kind of high RPM like rattling sound that goes along with it that is very distracting.
Too good to be true wish list,
1. I would like to be able to recruit a Drum and fife unit. After researching it. This unit would have a toggle button for music. The Drum and fife unit would have a unique look to its owning faction, as well as play unique tunes. However I would keep the drum roll, and bugle commands in the individual units as they are now.
A. Only one of these units would be allowed per army stack. This way you would not have two or more playing over each other.
B. This unit would add a morale boost, or some kind of morale effect on troops within a certain range of it, as well as give me goose bumps while I watch my glorious army marching by to a battle ditty of the time.
Examples;
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLc-bvcdNTw England.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HOc9WVZbts&feature=related America (This one has a video. Please focus on the music, not the movie.
C. This would also be a good way to add some variety to each faction.
If someone knows where there are instructions for adding music I would love a link.
thank you!
Some talk of Alexander,
And some of Hercules
Of Hector and Lysander,
And such great names as these.
But of all the world's great heroes,
There's none that can compare
With a tow, row, row, row, row, row,
To the British Grenadier.
2. Those heroes of antiquity
Ne'er saw a cannon ball
Or knew the force of powder
To slay their foes withal.
But our brave boys do know it,
And banish all their fears,
Sing tow, row, row, row, row, row,
For the British Grenadier.
3. Whene'er we are commanded
To storm the palisades
Our leaders march with fusees,
And we with hand grenades.
We throw them from the glacis,
About the enemies' ears.
Sing tow, row, row, row, row, row,
The British Grenadiers.
4. And when the siege is over,
We to the town repair
The townsmen cry, "Hurra, boys,
Here comes a Grenadier!
Here come the Grenadiers, my boys,
Who know no doubts or fears!
Then sing tow, row, row, row, row, row,
The British Grenadiers.
5. Then let us fill a bumper,
And drink a health to those
Who carry caps and pouches,
And wear the louped clothes.
May they and their commanders
Live happy all their years
With a tow, row, row, row, row, row,
For the British Grenadiers.
Sorry couldn't resist. Btw tow, row, row, row, row, row, describes their battle line with their toes all in rows.
"Yeah tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death; I shall fear no evil... for I'm the meanest sonofa in the valley."
i need that song on youtube, but i couldnt find it, with the vocals i mean
