    Default Some basic soldiering questions.

    Just a couple questions that I have been wondering.

    1. In previous titles having defend on lowered your attack rating but increased your defense, correct? Does having defend on lower your attack rating while firing your muskets? Or does it only effect you when engaged in melee?

    2. When being charged by regular foot soldiers and your firing away is it necessary to change to melee before they reach your lines or will your men engage in melee automatically?

    I can say for sure that #2 is no. They will engage in melee automatically. I'm really not sure about #1 though.
