    Default What's wrong?

ok, I download the game, I'm pyched, I click launch game, it takes awhile, but whatever I wait, then the movies at begining don't play, once again, whatever

then, the main menu, I see all the buttons to click, but no words on the buttons? then I click my way into the GC, it was luck really, I just clicked alot. but, the lady shows up, and she is speacking fine, but her txt box is blank(acually it had like a "k" in it, same with the main menu buttons) and I'm all like WTF, and then I just click exit so she shuts up. but I try the game, and every thing is like that, no txt just like a q or k or some stupid letter

also the game is so slow, that it's unplayable, I can't click on rakes or cities??? any sugestions before I get so mad I just go out and get a new comp?

I can never find the time to finish my AARs, damn you life getting in the way all the time.

    That didnt sound promising, hehe

    ok;

Start --> Run, then type in "dxdiag" without the quotes, and press enter.

Then once its finished working, select "save all information". Save it to a place you'll find the file again, then attach it to a post you make here.

There should be a tab called 'Display'. Click on there to find your graphics card.

You're right on the minimum for requirements on RAM and CPU, I'm not sure how you have 2 Pentium 4's but never mind.

Hmmm...I would say you should be able to play on low settings.

    What about your video card?

Try typing dxdiag in your start/run command line. You should be able to find out what sort of video graphics adapter you have.

Most likely hyper treading, it displays the CPU as having two cores

This is your graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

You're pretty low on specs for Empire I'm afraid. If you really want to enjoy it I'd suggest buying a new computer

Hyper-threading works by duplicating certain sections of the processor—those that store the architectural state—but not duplicating the main execution resources. This allows a hyper-threading processor to appear as two "logical" processors to the host operating system, allowing the operating system to schedule two threads or processes simultaneously

I would agree. It's time to purchase some new hardware.

In my opinion ( B.S. computer science from the University of Maine) the best you could do is upgrade your video driver and turn all the settings down to low.

Ram & harddrive space is not the same thing. You, sir - need to upgrade or purchase a new computer.

It means that the CPU is sort of divided into two so it can handle multiple actions at once without slowing down your CPU. I bet wikipedia can give you a better explanation...
