Steam download problem for the Patch.

My speeds are hideously slow when downloading the patch for whatever reason, I have been trying all day to complete the download but it has reset like 4 times and the download speed never broke 50 KB/s, I was downloading at about 500 kb/s and probably even more overnight for the actual game. I tried deleting the BLOB file, but that didn't work much, all the servers are giving me around the same speed too.

Is this on my end? My connection with the university is quite good usually and downloaded HL2 within an hour, and th demo for ETW was going at 1.2 MB/s.

I have a problem of unable to even run Steam. Too bad can't even install the game right now.

Are you sure that you are loading the patch and steam doesnt try to download the whole game?!

Have you seen this advice for problems with downloading the patch after installing with the disc. ( Read the first post).

Yop exactly the same what i wrote, check sticky. It seems that his steam tries to dl the whole game.
