The only think you have to fear is... Me.
TRIFORCE.
I have a radeon 4850 512mb and the game runs flawless.
i think it was Nvidia drivers having an issue not Radeon
ATI Radeon 4870 x2. Runs the game fine. Although its kinda scarying me that the fan is no longer spinning up during battles.
And yeah last I heard it was Nvidia that was having issues.
May your road lead you to warm sands.
I just had a CTD on the grounds that I ran out of video memory. Which is a little odd, since my ATI Radeon 4850 X2 has 2 gigs of ram built onto it. :hmmm: I remember hearing that ATI's 64-bit drivers had some issues with Crossfire, though, so I'm wondering if that might be the problem (I'll find out in a sec - posting on my laptop while the desktop reboots).
EDIT: Seems that turning off Crossfire did the trick, oddly enough.

Having issues with blue speckles on certain doodads, which I also saw in the demo. I have a HD4870 512mb and running in Vista 32-bit. Using Cat 9.1's though, going to search for a newer driver.

Have a 4870, game hasnt crashed (or had any other problems) in 12+ hours of playing.
4850, only issue are the blue dots on destructibles. (6 or so hrs of playing)
9.2 drivers
These blue dots seem a more rampant problem than I first thought.
[bandaid] FIX here for the blue dots of doom.

Yes, I did that already. I turned of Adaptive AA and they went away.
But I shouldn't have to.
I hope they fix this in a patch.
3870X2 here, running fine. I have had one CTD that was apparently random, since it hasnt happened since. I am on chapter III of the RTI.
(Though, now that I mention it, I have driven the English completely out of North America and I haven't won yet, do i need to sail down to the Bahamas and destroy them completely to win?)
I can play on high/ultra with my ati 2600XT with no problems like crashed or flikkering etc.
Btw I have 2 Gig of RAM how much virtual memory whould I have? I have that on 2 gig aswell.
MINVRAM=1000 Max=2000
I only get a black screen when I load the game with crossfire enable. I have 2 4850's, Vista64, and the 9.2 drivers. Anyone else getting crossfire to work with vista64? If so, what driver version are you using? Thanks!
Are you using 2 separate cards in Crossfire, or are you using the single-card 4850 X2?
I've had mixed results with my 4850X2's Vista x64 drivers (9.2 - same as you). RTW and ETW don't like it at all and crash all the time (they do run for a while before doing that, though), but M2TW, Civ IV: Colonization and Mass Effect have no problems whatsoever.
I think ATI's drivers are the problem. When I built my new rig in December and ran the 3D Mark Vantage benchmark software, there were a lot of weird graphical glitches that only went away by disabling Crossfire. I just think ATI hasn't gotten Crossfire to work well in the x64 architecture yet.

I have the 2 card setup. I have seen crossfire work in other games like crysis. It just seems very hit or miss with ATI's drivers. Makes me wish I had just invested in a better single card rather than going for this setup.
True, but at least we have the option of turning Crossfire off as needed. And ATI puts out new drivers roughly once a month, like clockwork. Hopefully they'll stabilize the Crossfire issue sooner rather than later. It's a shame really, since ATI cards are pretty solid on the hardware side of things. And usually on the cutting edge, too.
