    REPORT HERE ANY BUGS AND PROPOSED SOLUTIONS.



    Known bugs (after the March 25 patch):
    -White-screen CTD after naval battles.
    Solution

    Campaign Map

    -CTD when merging units together after battle
    -deadly slow scrolling on the map
    -flickering and pop ups on the campaign map
    -CTDs after finishing the round
    -huge frame drops on the map, but battles and stuff run smoothly
    -trade ship issues, couldnt make a traderoute
    -faction ship flags flash between own flag and pirate flag
    -"out of memory CTD" in grand campaign
    -CTDs when you try to start a new campaign while you have another campaign going

    Battle Map

    -iroquoi soldiers cause huge framedrops
    -"slowmotion" units in the battle of Quebec (RtI Campaign)
    -missing sounds of gunfire, infantry, etc.
    -cav gets stuck on gates/walls
    -missing textures
    -cav glitch, when they are attacking, they getting stuck
    -you can hear "hidden" units marching
    -sliding soldiers
    -advisor screen pops up, but it takes few seconds until he says something
    -in some battles the water is black
    -"black-stair-shadows" on horses when you turn shadows on


    AI

    -pathfinding
    -ai attacks frontal infantryline with cav
    -ai cav running into spears like there is no tomorrow
    -ai dont use all units sometimes

    Overall

    -loading times for some user
    -floating flags bug
    -settings are set back after CTD/Battle
    -text bug, couldnt read text because its to small

    (if i would be CA i wouldn't ever read those, maybe randomly, with luck) ... so here we go: Needed infos

    1. Game mode (Custom battle, Grand Camp, etc.)
    2. Faction
    3. Year or turn
    4. Give a quite accurate description of the bug you encountered

    5. Played Steam off- or online
    6. Custom files installed/changed (mods or whatever changes)
    7. Prior to this patch the same bug or no

    8. Sys specs (in short)

    I start with my bugreport:

    --------------------------------------

    1. Grand Campaign battle mode (custom battle plays fine)
    2. England (surely with every faction)
    3. 1st or 2nd, equal which turn
    4. Ctd with the usual Empire error message after every battle as soon as the battle has ended and the battle-result table occurs in the camp mode.

    5. Both tested, same result with Steam off or online
    6. Both tested, same result with or without custom files
    7. No, game played fine before this patch version, hadn't any reason to complain prior to this patch

    8. Intel E8500 @ 3,16 GHz / 1333 MHz (FSB), EVGA Nvidia 9800gtx+ on driver 182.06, Mobo Asus P5B (updated), LG 22" 1680x1050 (widescreen), Corsair DDR2 800 RAM PC2-6400/CM2X1024-6400 actively using 3 (of 4) GB @ 667 MHz (FSB), no overclocking at all, XP 32bit SP3 / dx9, all bios and drivers are updated.

    Well, the game is now unplayable for me, unless i put back the saved patch.pack files from the former version, but this can't be the goal.
    Oh, and don't tell me do this and that, i tried everything!

    Edit:
    I even suggest ( moderator? ), that the current active sticky bug report thread gets unsticked and replace it with this one here - reasons are obvious, no? It's outdated, it's much too much confusion in this thread, it's not at all structured, etc.
    Use this option or not, i'll anyway make a break on ETW until it is officially declared bugfree, or at least free of critical ctd's.

    Edit2: As for the dxdiag, well surely a good addition ( but not everybody will put that into a spoiler etc., perhaps too much fuzz for the average player ), so not a must i would say - but people could add their OS/directx-version (dx) to get a picture, would be helpful.

    Edit3 (hint in post # 4 here): For the ones having an account at the TW site, use also or only this thread: http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...h-support.html - while you must be able to deliver the dxdiag info in spoilers.

    Hi,

    i didn's find the right topic for this, and there should be one, eventually...

    so,

    first bug noticed...

    in 1712 playing Russia after end turn the game ctd when the ai manages Prussia,

    tried reloading and doing some moves differently, but no progress...

    anybody knows how to access the console?

    Temporary Fixes/Workarounds

    CTD when trying to click on one of your fleets: It has been discovered that adding a sloop to each of your fleets prevents the crash.

    CTD on AI faction turn: One thing you may want to try is improving the AI faction's feelings toward you to "very friendly". In some cases, it prevents the CTD.

    doesn't work, tried shift + "`" or "~" or any combination

    did anyone have encountered same problem playing russia, or any other nation?

    While playing as Prussia, when it hits turn 10 and Sweden has its turn it results in a freeze,
    Also the Campaign map sort of goes funny from time to time, its hard to explain. it sort of flashes and breaks up

    - Floating flag options are bugged. Battles always start with floating flags if you have it set to 'Never'. temp solution is to set it to 'Mouse over' or 'Always', hit ok, then set it to never and it registers.

    Anti Aliasing cost to much performance! without performance it can be played at ulrtra settings, with 2x or. 4x the FPS breaks down from 30-50 fps to 15-25 fps (at a battle)

    and the water is black in the Battle of brandywine (not in the demo), and the swords of the units to

    (PC: quad.9550, 2.83, 4GB DDR 3 1333mhz, MSi SuperOC 280 GTX, Asus Rampage Extreme, WinVista64BIT)

    World Map is slow and jerky, but battles run fine, no lag at all... very strange =S

    Crash to Desktop on the Campaign Map, never in Battles just on the Campaign Map. It just happens without any specific action by the player.

    Specs:

    E6750 Core Duo @ 2,99 GigaHertz
    4GByte DDR2 667 Hertz
    Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB

    Game runs fine on my Settings without any Lag, but this stupid CTDs

    I m hoping this is the correct place to post all this.

    I would describe all of the following as bugs:

    1. No textures on my units (I have read the solution and currently trying it, so we shall see)
    2. Campaign Map is a joke, and quite franky it has made the game all but unplayable. Its slow, jerky and has some strange little moments everyone here has been commenting on. So in my opinion its just completely unstable.
    3. Sounds issues still. During the game I have no issues, but the intro is buggered and any cut scene.
    4. Loading times are still taking an age.

    And this is what I have found so far. Not moaning, simply pointing out what I have found to be wrong so far. There were bound to be teething problems.

    I have just run the Steam validator, and its now updating again (I DID have 15 gb before this) so hopefully some of this may be solved.

    For different reasons I would like to know if certain people are having no problems at all? As then I know its my config, and I can keep on fiddling, otherwise I am wasting my time if its just the usual 1.0.0.0 problems as it will be solved by later patches.

    If I can get the game running to a point when I am not going to throw it out the window then I may find more bugs etc and in due course will post it accordingly.

    Cavalry glitch. similer to RTW.

    Defensive seiges. cavalry gets stuck on gates/walls/buildings leaving gates open

    unit pathfinding atm sucks . ah well early days

    here we go again:

    -iroquoi soldiers ruin performance (see topic)
    -sometimes it lags when you click at an amry/town on the campaign map
    -pathfinding like always, its getting old CA!!!!
    -stupid AI, cav is running into spears, AI dont use all units sometimes
