    Default New Age: Total War, 1500-1700

    This is a new age, a time of change, of enlightenment. This is a time of exploration and expansion.This is a time of life or death, a time of greed and glory. This is a time of conquest, a time of Total War!

    New Age
    The New Age: Total War is a project for Empire that stretches from 1500 to 1700, and will include many events such as the Thirty Years War and the English Civil War. Since this time period seems to have been skipped by the Total War series, I decided to create a mod on it, my favorite time period to study. The mod will feature extended versions of the current Empire map, Europe will include more of Africa and all of the Arabian Peninsula, India will include Indochina and Indonesia, and the Americas will include more of South America. The mod will also feature many factions, each with historical rosters for the time frame. This is a large project, and will be made slowly, one step at a time so we don't get overloaded with things to do.

    Other things we plan on doing...
    -Moving the general/captain, banner carrier, and instrumentalist back to the side of the battalion, and not in the middle.
    -Different formations, since soldiers didn't fire in volleys until the later era of the mod. This also means more guerrilla style warfare.
    -Bring back the royal families, including Princesses that can act as diplomats and Family Members that can act as generals.
    -A new AoR system.
    -I want to bring mercenaries back like they were in M2, but with a new twist so that we can incorporate the Landsknechts, Swiss Mercenaries, Condottieri, and Mercenary Royal Guards more accurately.
    -Separate military organizations for different factions. Basically factions will have different types of militaries, that work different ways.
    -Bringing back castles. Along with new forts, wooden and stone.
    -Historical victory conditions, so factions will strive to do what they did in history.
    -New guns and other weapons to fit the time frame, including crossbows.
    -New formations for pikemen, halberdiers, and other units of the time frame.
    -New ships, duh

    I must tell you that I haven't gotten Empire yet, so I hope get it today, and the other cause is the new script language of Empire.

    @ Polpolgio: Don't worry, I probably won't be able to get Empire for about a month, as of now I'm completely broke

    Wish I could lend a hand to this daring project, but anything after the start of the 16th Century is out of my historical expertise. I do wish you all a lot of luck!

    Thanks for the comment

    I was thinking of expanding the map even more, to include all of South America and Africa, and extend Asia to China and Japan, but I'm not quite sure yet, what do the rest of you think?
    Edit: Actually now that I think about it, I don't think it's such a good idea. We should just have the expanded versions like what I said on the first post, if we did expand Asia and Africa the game would get way to complex, so I think to make it easier and funner we should just expand the map a little bit

    Yes, but it would mean so many more factions, the game wouldn't be fun anymore with all that stuff It would also mean a lot more work, and we really aren't capable of that kind of work. I don't want to set my goals to big, and I don't want this mod to die like my last one.

    So how many faction you want... something like empire TW?

    You want europe and Africa or just Europe and Asia? or what?:hmmm:

    Factions? 1530 to 1700...You have the Age of Discouveries, the begining of empires with colonies in Africa, south america, Asia, and in Europe, you have a lot of battles...So what's your goal about this mod?.:hmmm:

    Yes I know what you mean, but I don't want to have a mod with 100 some factions that will never get completed because I included the entire world

    As for what I do want when it comes to the map...
    The mod will feature extended versions of the current Empire map, Europe will include more of Africa and all of the Arabian Peninsula, India will include Indochina and Indonesia, and the Americas will include more of South America.
    So expect to see things like Siam, Abyssinia, and the Inca
