    Hi. when adding a new province how do you determine where the road will be?

    No there is no way to automatically determine where the road will go. Either which way they should connest to the next province if there is not something blocking its way. Namely an impassible mountain range or a fordless river.

    it's not always logical though. sometimes there doesn't seem to be anything obstructing the path, yet the road isn't built. or, a roundabout path is chosen. often times provincial borders can hinder things. roads will only occur between two provinces if a clear path exists between them - one that does not cross through any intermediate provinces.

    Let us suppose that I want to mod some properties of roads let say the road color on strat_map and the road speed of a certain road level, what/where do I have to change things?

    I just got through with my first map alterations and your last comment proved invaluable to me. I was able to make new roads form by adjusting the province borders slightly.

    I know your response wasn't aimed at me but thanks anyway for that Info.
