Would someone more experienced of the team deal with the Eriador faction (and dale) after the firts release? Not to insult anyone, but these factions in NO WAY match the other factions. This mod is the creme de la creme, so its obvious:
Dont let beginners start modelling substandart content for this mod. Sounds harsh, but its not meant insulting. Get someone rework this, who has the needed experience.

These 2 factions should be entirely redesigned in the second or third release of this mod. Sorry for beeing that harsh, but they endanger the mod and decrease the otherwise insanely high standart presented here- its no shame not beeing able to compete with designers as King Kong, but nobody is helped by letting beginner modellers play around with Third Age:Total War.

At least Dale will be reworked for later releases, not sure about Eriador.

Gotta agree with the last post. Confused as to why the developers actually allowed sub-standard units to be previewed now, especially in light of the other recent previews. Is no one overseeing the public relations side of things, ensuring consistency etc ? No offence to Krechet who I am sure has vastly improved his modding skills through working on TATW

Dale is allready in process. But if you don't like Eriador - your choice. I tired to remake it more and more. I only learned modelling for TW than I started making them and I loose quite big amount of time for them. So than I at lasdt could make what I want I didnn't have desire and time to do it most perfect. So if people want I could leave the project. I'm not so skilled as DG, Alletun, KK and Shredder. It's true. ASnd I have too 3 more projects for that I could work for. Now I have skills for that and enough time to do all perfect

I don't think you should leave the team, it wouldn't solve anything . Keep trying, maybe someone can improve Eriador for later releases (Dale is already being redone) at least you've made a start (so it can be perfected later). You've become and you will become even better in time and with practice .

It's not that you're so bad at modding. You're begginer, and thus you simply couldn't do as good units as KK and others. And you had to compete with some best modders in whole TWC.

But I'm angry at the team that it had not gave you enough attention. They should monitor your progress, say what you have to improve/change, give you units concepts and designs, hints etc. At least hire some good artist to help you!

But as I see, they didn't.
I can clearly see the effort you made, and in many times it's just wasted because of inproper unit concepts, lack of experience in modding and chosing the hardest way of doing units possible.

I just read through this thread and all I can say is how mad I am at the users of this community, seldom have I seen such spoiled and disrespectful posts. May I ask how many of you posting these who knows of the difficulties of modeling, skinning and balancing? May I ask how many of you that have ever been on the team of one the most anticipated mods ever, charged with creating not only a unit or a building but a whole faction with no visual reference and next to no idea what units this region could have had at it´s disposal?

What rights do you think you have to downright critisize the work of an artist who does this on his free time without any pay or other compensation for said work?

IMO I think that the models and skins could use some bit of rework, but goddamn if I would rudely demand and offend the one who made them to redo it. That´s not an okay thing to do, isn´t encouragement and constructive critiscism the right way here, isn´t it?

Sorry for this flaming post but I get furius when good-manners is dropped for the sake of childish reasoning and total disrespect for a persons integrety and feelings. Be free to critisize this post however, let us see your good will or bad intentions for this mod, I´m sure most people on the forums will see my way on this matter

I posted a message this morning about how difficult it was to make dale and eriador, because there are no examples and krechet had to make them from scratch and that he still did a great job, but now I see there has become a conflict, because of what I said. I am sorry about that and it wasn't the intension. I just wanted to support krechet.

Dont worry mate, your post was just fine.
Others however didn´t put any reason into their arguments, if you even can call it that as it was just plain insulting and lacked even a trace of thought.

Krechet, don´t listen to these hypocrites and ignorant bastards, you may not be the best modeler around and I admit i feel that the units could use another makeover, but you´re still pretty new to modeling/skinning and judging from this as well as actually seeing the things that were good with the units I think you deserve way more credit than you´ve had so far.

    Keep up the good work

There was much constructive criticism. Because all non-constructive was well, dleted

Also, I know that it's for free. But being free doesn't make the units better, huh?

Yes. Therefore I decided to change them myself.
    Goddamnit.

Hey, guys, why do you actually think that MAKING UNITS WITHOUT ANY REFERENCES IS HARD?
After very short googling I found very interesting pics of dunedain. Using your own imagination to create the rest doesn't hurt!
