I think those loading times on the demo will be ano matter what you have in your rig. Must be some kind of data bug or something. Hopefully this will not be a problem in the final game.

Actually the weird thing is, during all that loading time the game is barely accessing the hard drive. When loading a battle my HDD light lights up only once in a while compared to loading a battle in M2TW in which the light is on almost continuously. Now this is just what I noticed, and the HDD light isn't terribly accurate.I'm gonna run some benchmarks with Process Explorer and see what results I get.
maybe its because its not pulling data as it should be. Like a lot of the loading time is because its actually doing nothing.

A VelociRaptor will noticeably improve the time to load compared to a regular 7,200RPM, however if you really want to piss your pants, you would want a good reliable SSD.
It will not (well not with the ETW demo anyways). Check this out.
Everything left of the red line is the loading of the naval battle. The 33 MB read you see right at the end was during the battle. The biggest I/O during loading was a 176 KB/sec write. The reads were around 7 KB/sec during entire loading time. The highest I saw the reads jump to was 33 KB/sec.

Well the second you alt+tab ETW is already suspended to use little I/O reads. Not 100% accurate but good info.
The game must have a bad algorithm for loading, obviously the game doesnt cache into RAM on launch, so obviously it's doing nothing sometimes.
yeah i have serious doubts that the HDD will have a major impact on the load time. Just about everyone is having insane load times. We can only hope its a bug with the demo and not the game itself. It takes me a real long time to load a battle, but the battle itself runs flawlessly.
