Loved your AAR, and I'm happy I was there for you in times of trouble.
This AAR truly has been a masterpiece, and I hope it will never be forgotten.

Haha, that is a little overkill saying its a masterpiece, but thnx though my friend.
As for it being forgotten, well it pretty much is now, but I'm still finishing her' off because AARs that don't finish always bugged me. So how could I do it to my own.
Wow. After not playing RS for some months, I come back and see all those updates on your AAR. I'm eagerly awaiting to see how it ends.![]()
This is the only AAR I read actually. I don't know why. Maybe because I play RS myself and can't really grasp the feeling of other mods. Anyway seeing as RS2 is bound to come out in the near future, I really expect another AAR from you.![]()

Update:
Petra: Closing Moments
The fate of the battle flickered with every blink and sigh after a thrust or strike. The Ptolemaics had successfully pushed my people to the brink. The numbers were not the problem because we have taken on figures three to four times our size and came out victorious. The problem came down to equipment and training. The Royal Agora was an enemy too strong without the help of Silver Shield skill and strength. Would the outcome had changed with them that day?, I say it would have.
Far away from home, the Men of Cyprus tried to hold their right flank with all they had left in them. General Chalcis charged and smashed into the backs of lines, but there was just too many.
The line was dead even farthest from the gate, and even pushing forward in slight steps. Elsewhere though, actions were sealing the fate of many.
The left flank broke open like they all had known it would with the push of more souls out of the gate. The army was split into two halves and began to crumble and collapse under the weight of so many shields and flesh. My people still fought on though with no thought of fear. They stood their ground as long as they could until their breath was taken by those wretched Ptolemaics.
The sole survivor told me that some began to run. Those who ran stopped shortly after, turned around, and charged into the the slaughter. Killing as many of these bastards as possible he told me, was all they had left.
The last to hold out were the Hoplites facing around a thousand men till they were cut down. From there the the sight was one of sadness by the last of the Syrians and Chalcis himself. He could have ran, escaped and quite possibly reached myself and my men, except he did not.
He stared the enemy in the eye and charged heroically into the thousands like heroes of the past. His death sealed the fate of the Ptolemaic Dynasty by the hands of myself. I reached the city three weeks after the defeat to find thousands of dead outside the walls. I had never seen such a terrible sight. I had only read about it the archives of Babylon. My army fought their way into the battered city and killed every soul responsible for what I had seen. I burned their temples and destroyed their homes. I left that cursed city with the appearance of a granite slab.
I know of these events thanks to the survival of one man. He died shortly before I began writing these pages from his battle wounds. I vowed to avenge their death in the only way I knew how. The "how" will be the sack of Alexandria....

Final Update:
Before I march toward the city of Alexandria, I am going to finish my explanation of the events after the Battle of Petra. My report of what took place there, changed everything that could have happened to what it is now. The total destruction of an army did not sit well with the nobles of the Persian Gulf. Bolon tried his hardest to blow the blame away from himself, but it was too late for that. His short reign would come to an end by an assassin's blade dipped in poisons from the Far East. This assassin by sent by General Argeos' Personal Guard. News of Bolon's workings that captured him the throne " got out ", therefore he had to be taken care of.
His death meant that the Throne ascended to Argeos, ending the Seleucus' family reign for the beginning of his own. From that point on I was given the task of conquering the Ptolemaics. For 6 years I battled in this region fighting off every man I seen. There were many great battles, as well as many lost, but for the first time in years there was no fighting around Jerusalem or Damascus. Argeos and his family pushed on through Anatolia while I did in the South.
The time had now come for our army to once again strike the Heart of the Eagle's Homeland. Since the revolts years ago after Kassandros' retreat, we have all longed for this moment. I was 25 miles from the city when I seen the unthinkable crest the duns of the Delta. At first I thought I needed more water. The sun out here could cook a man's very mind into thinking he had seen something that was not clearly there. Unfortunately this was not the case. What I seen was a man with a white cloth wrapped around his spear galloping toward our men. Behind him I could see the whole garrison of Alexandria staring back. I knew this was not going to go well, at all....
I ordered for there to be no firing and allowed him to approach. He was well dressed and groomed unlike most of their filthy kind. I had a feeling what was about to come out of his mouth would equal that of what comes out of my rear after a good meal. I was right.
" The Kingdom and Army of Ptolemaic Egypt commands that you leave these lands at once to avoid your own annihilation so far from home. I am Parmenion of -..."
I cut him off right there and said, " One like yourself does not deserve the right to hold that name. The Parmenion I know of was a great commander and Greek. And for that alone I am going to kill you ".
I dove toward the womanly smelling fool and drove my dagger into his throat. We all watched as his face gargled for breath as his hands tried to stop the flow gushing out of his neck. I then kicked his body down the dune for all of Alexandria to see. I had, had enough of these fools. There is no peace, there is only war.
I cleaned myself off the best I could and then ordered the army to advance. The battle for Alexandria would begin on my terms and not their own. I could hardly wait to kill more of these heathen dogs. I had a fair army at my fingertips also. Fine units of Silver Shields and battle hardened recruits formed up the line. The firepower came from the famed Syrians and the cavalry was backed by none other than the Companions.
I was ready for one of the great showdowns and I was only 28 years old. I was in the Prime of my life and strength. I felt as if nothing could stop me. Our army had the best of the best from every corner of our world. I was proud to be a Hellenistic warrior.
We would meet on the crest of a great dune with the sight of the city mere miles away in the distance. It was hot, and soon to a bloody mess soaked into the sand. The gridlock of spears and shield soon took hold. Then I had a problem minutes into the battle. Light infantry were racing toward the archers. I had to get right into the action.
I ordered all of the cavalry to circle far out behind most of the action. When I blew the horn, it would mean that I wanted them to go right into my location and cement those in front of myself. A mortar of blood in better words, if I say so myself. As I said before, the main line was totally tied up in the fighting. My Anvil was in place.
As I watched my right flank slowly get itself engulfed I made my move. The horn was blown and the plan began to unfold. I smashed into the flankers going toward my archers while my cavalry started to close in on my position.
I enjoyed smashing skulls and breaking their bones with every thrust. I had totally lost any sense of mercy toward these people the day I had seen Petra. Petra would never leave my mind's dark caverns. I know I had not seen the worst of war like the late Kassandros, but I had seen enough to make myself the way I am. Would I fall to his depths?, I doubt that. Soon after these thoughts clouded my mind, their " new general " died in a sea of spears.
Right on time my men arrived with deadly results. Then I led them into the crumbling flank. The whole line was beginning to break up thanks to our superior force. We slowly wrapped around the line piece by piece.
The last of line held as long as it could but was no match for the line being plowed aside by my men. The battle was hardly a fair fight.
One hacking and heaving smash through the line ended the battle and their reign over Alexandria. I executed all of the city's government, religious figures, and every man. The rowdy women who could not keep their mouths shut were also executed. The last of the heathen temples were also dismantled. I burned every building until it was charred shell. The city was black and full of smoke for days. I settled into the Palace of Ptolemy I and planned out the rest of my campaign. The Eagle's wings were clipped.
I commissioned the building of a new temple dedicated to Dionysos. The temple was small, but is a larger step in finally securing these lands for our rule as a true Hellenistic Empire. More structures will be built in time to totally revitalize the region. The old ways of anything Ptolemaic will be burned and erased . We have already learned that allowing even a seedling of Ptolemaic origin alive, can sprout disaster and more wars. These wars are growing tiring to me, although I know they are not over yet. I still must move down the Nile and extinguish those left still living there.
A week after the burning, pillaging, breaking ground, blood, and many other things I do not wish to write out, I loaded up my messenger for his journey to Charax. The news of taking the city should bring new life into the old Ruling governor of the Gulf. His old eyes have seen much of our rocky road's survival. I see much success in the future if the Empire can hold onto its Lucky Horseshoe.
I sit right now on a balcony that could have once been in the company of Ptolemy himself and wonder what lay ahead for the Empire. I wonder what new enemies we may make, and what new allies are out there, if any. I wonder if the Parthians will hold their peace, and if Rome will rise up and challenge the Macedonians like we plan after disposing the Pergamum and Ptolemaic scum. I wonder how far I will have to go to rid the Ptolemaics forever. I wonder if I too, will become part of the Invasion of Greece. I wonder so many things that they could only be told in another story for another time in another place. I look out toward the Sea and wonder what the next move of Emperor Megas Argeos will be. The Ishtar Gate to Alexandria was a journey like no other, may the next generation's path be greater than the last.
This is the world I leave you with....

A fitting end to an amazing saga![]()
Hey man, i just finished your AAR. It's one really good one too. You can write and take screenshots very well! Good job!
Thanks to everyone who has followed the AAR and to those who just began. It's always great seeing people's first post in your AAR as it shows the time taken. It has been a long haul with stretches of popularity, fun, and inactivity but I made it to the end lol. I enjoyed writing this and contributing to the RTW AAR community. Finally I'd like to thank all of those who voted for me in the past MAARCs that I had taken part in. I entered for the last time this month. I am contemplating on whether to take a break or not, therefore you may see a new AAR coming in the near future.
Thanks,
Red October
Just read the ending and was awesome.Have some rep.
