Really, really good !!!
great, amazing? but they are so hoplite-based! shouldnt they have any native non-aor standard dacian falx or sword units?

Dacians are never shown depicted with the two-handed falx. ( so therefore likely never used it).
It is only ever shown wielded by Germano/Celtic/Thracian Bastarnae tribesmen, who, along with the Sarmatian Rox-Alani appear as Allies of the Dacians.
Of course they have been depicted with single handed sica's.

Excelent work
By RS2's time, the Dacians had not started consolidating into political power like the fellow barbarian Gauls had to their West. Still, they had already experienced military victories over the Macedonians whom they still picked up influences from. Through their history the Dacians were strong enough to rule over some of the Greek trading sites along the Black Sea, and it was that contact that enabled them to pick up Hellenistic influences. Plus the Dacians had the advantage of having influences and contact with the Celts, Hellenes, and Romans all in one area, and they picked up on what they could.
Keravnos should be able to tell you more.
cries in amazement.
thanks for the responces. but were they really sooo hoplite centered? i dont know, i expected them to have more sword based units.

Beautiful, just beautiful. Truly piece of art and it is easy to understand now why RS 2.0 is one of the most anticipated mods of 2009.
Great work guys, and can't wait for the release of the mod.

One of the units we didn't show any in battle shots of, but which is in one of the V-Ray renders is the Scordisci infantry unit - again an AOR unit that will be available to the Dacians, but will be amongst the local opposition at the beginning of the game. Skin by Leif.

Great work
Marvellous Preview.
I love how all your previews not only show the upcoming units for those factions, but also present the historical background to get a better understanding of them. I especially love this one about the dacians.
The Troops look very colourful but not overdone. Will be a blast to play with/against them.
Argh...I might have to break my "DO NOT PLAY WITH BARBARIAN FACTIONS" Rule! They're so beautiful!
