As for the people who want more variation: How about a few scratches and dants in their armor? It would make them look like they've been in the fray at least once, and survived. That would make them look even scarier to their foes, while keeping the uniform.
Srry Mith, my first welcome post.. what a disaster!
I kinda support your idea as well, but I still want some white hands

What about they´re not visible when zoomed out? That way you could still get your ant army

    I can live with that.

I have disabled sprites, so details remain no matter how far I zoom out. Like I said, I can live with hands on their shields, though. I'd prefer if only the Scouts (or whatever they'll end up being called) had them, but it's better than hands on their chestplates.

All factions have access to Ballistas and Catapults, they're just not previewed (you've all seen them before).

Isengard! The units do look absolutely amazing and they've definitely been worth the wait, but yes that would be nice. They also look a little, brown? Their skin doesn't look dark enough.

You disabled "sprites"? How does that work?

As I said white hands an the shields, Helmets or whatever would make them look not as clean!

Many soldiers (on both sides) would draw different symbols concernig their side (some going back to WW 2) to give them a more personal feel of their equipment.

I can see so clearly Uruk's being pushed to service. Snaga puting on them armor and preparing them for battle. Before they go the recieve a "pat on the back" by an orc snaga putting the white hand on them randomly. Some dont get any.

I believe that what people want to say is not that they so much lack vareity, but lack realism. The soldiers of Gondor have very much detail, and seem realistic. Alletun's work is even finer, more detailed mechanicly, but lack's a bit of realistic feeling of the units. They seem a bit artificial. A few white hands would make them seem real.

It's somewhat like a perfect android without feelings. He looks perfect, but he doesn't seem like a real person.
I agree with Mith. IMO uruks are not real persons. They are orks who only want to fight and eat. They mind is filled with fighting, killing and eating and they don't care about anything or enyone else.

Oh you are all wrong! hahaha. You see, Saruman DID waste paint on the Uruk-hai. Aragorn notes that the helmets of the slain Uruk warriors at Amon Hen sported the hand painted in white. So, if they don't sport the white hand on their armor, all of them definately should have it on their helmets

That would be the "Scouts" unit, who don't have helmets (yet?).

I think that it's reasonable that most of Saruman's armies bore the white hand. Considering they had some joint operations with mordor they probably wanted it to be easy to differ between the two. Just as much as the majority of the Mordor orcs should be marked with the lidless eye. It would look better imo if the Uruks had the white hand, and it would probably be more lore like. Not that the current models are looking bad or anything haha, they look really good. Just a little finishing touch perhaps?

Do the Uruks get those beast siege ladders from Helm's deep?
