I'll just start off with Southern California, where I live.

- Not that many people own Rolls Royces/other fancy generic car, as people would like to believe.
- Not everyone is obsessed with tanning.
- California beaches are not the best in the world. Some are beautiful, yes, but I never understand why everyone always goes: "Oh you're going to California? Hit the beaches dude, they're freakin' awesome."
- People don't use cell phones all the time.
- We don't have warm weather 365 days a year.
- Not everyone knows Spanish.
- Hollywood is not beautiful.
- We're not all health-obsessed, nor are we all fat.

That being said, everything and anything you hear about Los Angeles is true. If that city were to get nuked, nothing of value would be lost.

Now that stereotype is unfortunately true, to a good degree, even here in Southern California, where there's a ton of Asians of various ethnicities.

well both my grandparents were TCM doctors and i honestly never heard of the medical use of dog penis for impotence. Just saying, if you saw one article about ONE exotic restaurant in beijing doesn't really mean it's like a tradition in china.

As a Californian, it's always amazing to see the reaction, even from other Americans, when I say I grew up in the Red-Neck part of the state. And as far as being a bastion for the Democratic Party, not from my neighborhood. Populist, perhaps, but certainly not liberal. Modesto...two hours away from anything cool.
