Yes, I love the grainy quality and also the dust which rises as the troops march into battle. It's very atmospheric.

A quick preview from an AAR in preparation: 'The End Of The Line' -
Here we see the Praepositus, Eugenius, commander of a small unit of limitanei garrisoning the castrum of Zabensis deep in the interior of the province of Numidia. The troops have been on excercises and are now returning to the run-down fort after a long and dusty day. Sand is blowing roughly over the horizon and Eugenius, a tired man with ancient Punic blood, is eager to get the men dismissed so he can retire and have his slaves massage his aching body.
He is not to know that events far over the horizon will draw out his small force of limitanei and propel them into a bloody and cataclysmic war against barbarians from beyond the Rhine . . .
