Finall tests(some corrections will follow) for the new Scutatoi model that will be used -with changes- for many units.
In the following pictures you will see in close look what we have done in 99% of our unit models.
Not only the textures are realistic as possible but under the primary help of modelers of our team like Absinthia,Lord_Calidor, Sumskilz,Matthaeus and Socal_Infidel and bone assignment discoveries of Markhaselb, i have completed by 99% the Gravity/Realism project and an extensive tutorial will follow.
Lets start by watching how the unit now looks:
In this picture you can see a unit too much uniformed. But i cut this part to show you a small detail.
In this finall texture merging you can see 2 armors made by leif Erikson and 2 made by Pacco!
Watch that almost everything is a 3d model and not a texture addition!
The red tunic is ONLY one of the cloths the soldiers wear. But you can see it with 3 diferent armors!
The 4 bodies "follow" the main rule of grouping just like other model parts. The same occurs for the 4 armors, the 6 swords, 4 scabbards etc!
The leaf shield of Absinthia's combined with Ste-f-an's 3d shield boss for example.
What Gravity/Realism project means:
In this picture we can see clearly the 3d parts.
Adding 3d parts instead of portay them on textures has a "tiny" problem.
Model movements tend to make 3d parts pining one an other and for that reason extensive vertces bone assignments and tests are needed (like this one).
Watch that the coifs and the shoulder belts do not ping each other, low belt "follow's" the waists movement, and the wrist of the arm carrying the shield continues to grasp it no matter the move of the arm and shield.
More "details" of the Gravity/realism project are visible in the following pictures that show few phases of the unit's activity.
ENJOY !
