That unit modelling tutorial at the beginning is incredible! I will use it to teach my younger brother 3-d modelling. Hopefully, I can get him to join twcenter soon...

    question! question teacher!

how do you change the UV of a model? say for example, I want to make the UV of the torso a front to back one, rather than a right to left one; or, If I want to change the leg UV, so that intead of right and left halves being the same, the right and left halves are different?

I finally managed to get a model that suits me-just the UV map is the issue
I haz a culler!! (really, who gives a darn? its totally meaningless, and it doesn't really accurately reflect who I am)

In editably poly select torso or any part you want.Go to modifier list nd select Unwrap UVW.Click on edit and select all polygons by clicking Lctr+A and go to mapping/normal mapping and select front/back.Than you should get something like this:

Than all is an you.Rotate those two sides by 90 degrees and use move and scale tool to get this shape

    nice!

now, once its editeable poly, and this UV is done, how do I switch it back to editable mesh? previous attempts have led to trouble

    like the one here:
