There is a readme somewhere (I think in the download or the site) explaining where to drop the files.
Or is the Vista Virtual Folder on the prowl again?

Now the only available plugin is for GIMP 2.7.
Does anyone happen to have the version for 2.6 to upload it???

I test it but it seams something is missing in the pack onlt the .dds.exe is in ...
It can "recognise" the .dds files,tries to open them but when i press ok an error message that the .dds file can not be opened apears...
Should the pack also contain files for the .bin folder too?

Have you tried it on a 'regular' DDS file? Meaning for example from the unpacked game? I just got hold of one of the tga.dds files in data\banners and it works perfectly.

I'm running GIMP 2.6.7 and it works fine for me (obviously I had to convert my total war texture files to dds first). Thanks I really appreciate this link (+rep) I now have photoshop but I'm still so used to GIMP as I have been using it for so long.

Having trouble with the installation; If I put it in the plugin directory, it has an error message when I try to run it. When i have it in the GIMP directory, clicking it brings up the black box briefly and then does nothing. Any suggestions? I've been trying for days to make this work.

This is from the ReadMe of the plugin: (you don't run the dds.exe, simply copy it into the directory indicated)

To install, extract these files to your GIMP plugins directory.
This directory is usually located at:
C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins

Well i don't use GIMP but you have to convert from .texture to .dds right so why not convert them into .tga straight edit and then reconvert them back with DXTBmp. I use this and it's perfect for M2Modding.

I have been using a couple of things from MW Graphics (Tview, ConvIm), didn't know about this one. Will check it out.

Can you do a step by step tutorial on how to use it?
