So I have to reinstall it, but this time put it in the Rome Total War folder and not the BI one?

    Yep, as per the instructions.

If it really bothered you to give me an answer that much, you didn't have to. I suppose I do the same for DoB?

It didn't bother me, what makes you think it did?!

    Yes, same for DoB.

Now there's a problem. It's asking me to choose the file location. I have two RTW options on here, the FOLDER of RTW (which contains a BI folder and the VI2 with 0KB) and the actual RTW. One is under Activision the other is under Creative Assembly. Which one do I choose? Also, I don't know, I thought I was being a pest.

The one the shortcut you use to play RTW points to (from the sound of it, the Creative Assembly one).

Oh, by the way, you wouldn't mind having a Let's Play be done of this would you? I mentioned it to someone who does Creative Assembly LP's and he seemed interested.

EDIT: I think it worked. I was in the middle of editing this when it went to the main menu screen. Now I just need to get DoB and i'll be all set. Thanks Aragan. I'll let you know what i think of the mod after my first few times playing.

Of course not, on the contrary, it would be great.

Windows 7 laptop. I have BI 1.6, I can get VI2 1.7 working fine, however installing DoB is proving to be impossible. I've followed all the instructions, and it crashes every time I try to start a new campaign.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War

Thats the directory I send it to, is it right?

DoB seems to have an issue with Windows7; no idea why exactly for now. I'm afraid the only 'solution' atm is to play without DoB.

Well thanks for the speedy response. Upsetting, but luckily the original game is fantastic.

It is annoying indeed, I must find out why it happens, one of these days...

No rush, I know that development on this mod has "finished." Like I said, its forgivable considering how good the original game is.

Can anyone with Windows7 try this one out please?

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=06SVVBP8

It's a .rar version of VI2 + DoB fully updated etc, and I want to see if it plays ok on Windows7 (it does on mine).

Rename/delete your existing bi/VI2 folder. Then extract the BI folder from the .rar inside the RTW directory (to overwrite the existing BI folder) and then create a shortcut for the RTW-BI.exe, with " -nm -show_err -mod:bi/vi2" at the end of the target line.

    EDIT: New d/l link.

Let me know if there are any issues. Thanks!

You need to add it to the end (as per the instructions). You've added it within the quotation marks.

    EDIT: too fast!

The command line arguements are supposed to go outside the quot.marks, like this:
    Code:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:bi/vi2 -nm -show_err

    EDIT: Too slow!

If someone is having problems with playng DoB on Windows7, can he try the following and report on whether on not it works?

Locate your "Virtual Store" (C:\Users\AccountName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore), delete all its contents and launch the mod again.
