There are 19 factions (of whom 13 are playable at the moment): Taras, an Illyrian tribe (Autariatai? - don´t know the name exactly), Bessoi (a thracian tribe), Macedon, Athens, Sparta, Ionia, Skythians, Massagetes, Bactria, Magadha (a indian kingdom), Media, Persia, Babylon, Lydia, Kyrene, Egypt, Kush (Nubian) and Saba (southern arabia).

The unplayable out of these are: Illyria, Skythians, Massagetes, Bactria, Kush and Saba

That's right - they don't have an accurate army in the current release so we chose to have them as nonplayable.

Here is my Late Dynastic Empire... The Persians just got crushed by the Indians. And now I am at war with the Ionians. I may also sneak invade the Italian Peninsula .

Persia Campaign - 543 BC.
Currently at war with the Medians and Babylonians. Was pretty easy pushing the Babylonians back seen as I'd been able to develop my settlements economincally before they attacked. Then just as I got really stuck into them the Medians attacked. Luckilly I'd taken Babylon by then, and the surrounding towns, which helped to raise enough money to build a second army and invade Media.

He is playing Egypt, as you can see on the pics.
And Ionia is (sadly) the terror of Minor Asia in most campaigns. Way too expansionistic and strong imo.

Update on my Persian campaign:
536BC
The Babylonians only have a couple of settlements where Palestine, Egypt and North West Arabia meet. Medians have lost their homeland and have been pushed further west. Yet again while I was busy fighting on two fronts the Baktrians decided to have a go at me so now I've pushing them out of Persia and invading their homeland at the same time. I also took Eastern Persia and Gedrosia off the Indians, who had expanded farther than I had expected. So I'm fighting on four fronts, with about five armies, and a sixth on the way. Also, with the eastward expansion I had to change my capital from Babylon to Ansan.
