    Mythodical, you need a fortress with a drill square to be able to educate a general. Early in your campaign you are typically restricted to governers this way but you need to build a school in a settlement to train them.

    • Name of your issue Crash to desktop after every 2 - 3 turns
    • Is CTD repeatable? Yes, as above.Occurs during AI turn (Moors/Georgia)
    • What is you operating system Vista
    • What language version of the game do you have? UK Gold Edition
    • What year are you playing when CTD occurred? Occurs every 1-2 years
    • What faction do you play? Novgorod but happens with every faction tested.
    • What faction is creating the CTD Moors/Georgia/Rebels
    • Briefly describe the issue and add comments. Basicly no matter how many times I attempt to play I always get a CTD after 2-3 turns, I can always carry on if I load up the last autosave so so something very strange is happening, I have tried re-installing M2TW completely, then trying DLV 6.0, then 6.1 then the open beta, CTD no matter what version.

    I have the problem that when I want to play some cultures I always get a CTD. Don't know which cultures at the moment but I will have an eye of it if you want to know. Perhaps this problem is known and you can tell me how to fix it?

    OK, let me reformulate my answer:

    Could it be because every time you want to start a new campaign, that is when you reach the faction selection screen (the one you go to after you have decided whether you want to play historical or default campaign for single player; the one that has plenty of faction icons), you are sequentially selecting one after the other more than 2-3 factions (shields or coat of arms if you like) in the selection screen to check their starting position or so on? Do not do it, just choose ONE faction and move on (that is, start the campaign). This means, that you can sequentially play as many factions as you want (not Rebels or Pope I think) just starting different campaigns, just like vanilla M2TW. This feature, not bug, comes from having so many playable factions, and CANNOT be corrected.

    Also, do not change between historical and standard campaigns, it will CTD. Those are known FEATURES, not bugs. If that is not the case, please be more specific on your report so we can try to help you better.

    I hope this was better for you. Honestly, it sounds even more confusing to me. Just have some trial and error, the way to go.

    DLV is not designed to play hotseat, you will have all the cash bonuses the AI gets, etc. Just forget about playing hotseat

    I just wish we could find out what all of the CTDs are. Seems like a CTD only thread would be easier to try and figure out just those issues. i am talking about game CTD not start screen CTDs. Right now I am high up in my Venice campaign but I get CTD about every 4 turns which is very frustrating when you have to reboot sometimes I can find the OK button on the black screent though.
    I am not sure how the trace log function works exactly but seems to me you should be able to add some code in the scripted items modders are adding so that it comes out in the trace log. The CTD errors almost certainly have to be code related I was thinking that they were related to end of turn scripts or even possibly the starting of movies. Isnt there something you can place in the config that will not play any movies? I think if we had more trace code it may be easier to see the issue. But most scripts run at the end of a turn correct? I have a CTD and save point that fails just trying to load the save file which is an autosav point. This leads me to believe that there is data error like the wrong data type in the wrong place or something like that. I can post it if anyone would like to have a look. Thanks.
    Also on a sidenote isnt there a flag you can place on the shortcut to stop movies from playing at the begining.

    Is issue repeatable? (Try to run the saved game, several times to try to repeat the issue) Yes!
    What year are you in? 1245
    What faction do you play? The Danish Faction.
    Briefly describe the issue and add comments. (Be specific and detailed!): After clicking end turn..game freezes on the 1st turn (France's turn) and wont continue. The only way I can get the game to shut off is to bring up Task manager (where it says "Kingdoms is Not Responding" and then I'm forced end the task.

    I've tried many times to deinstall/reinstall the game clean installs of all the DLV patches with no luck. If anyone could provide me any clues as to how to fix this, I'd be thankful. I'm having a blast playing this campaign, and I would really like to continue. When I get off work, I can u/l my save files if need be.

    It's happened with 3 characters now. One family member and two adopted.

    What year are you in?
    1192

    What faction do you play?
    I got this as Flanders. But it didn't happen in my Teutonic campaign.

    Briefly describe the issue and add comments. (Be specific and detailed!):

    A new character always dies his first turn. When a boy comes of age, or I adopt a general, I just get a message that they died. And they show up in the family tree as dead!

    Also, I don't here the cool war horns from earlier versions, but I think this has been reported.

    UPDATE: I loaded up my Teutonic campaign and it's happening with that one too. Now I've figured out that this started happening after I installed Taiji's Battlefield Balance Mod. Pretty damn weird!

    When you say hording faction, you mean a faction that has been displaced and is roaming around the map? If so, yes the Flemish faction has about 5 stacks running around. Would that be the cause of my freeze? Thank you for the response.

    Why are there in 6.0 so many new incorrect and ugly normal textures ? Everything was better in 5.7x. Now, I have to repair battle_models.modeldb, because I like only nice units on the battlefield.
