    We are having some trouble with the Byzantines in DLV 6.2.

    Something is very different with the points of government.

    This week I tried to play with the Byzantines and gave up three campaigns.

    All with zero points of government.

    In one of these campaigns I played until 1289.

    It seems that something, turn after turn, is leaving the negative points of the government.

    Even if the player is not committing any "mistake of the government," according to the parameters of the script.

    DLV campaign

    In the beginning ...
    Between the first and fourth turn ...
    The government points go up between 2 and 4 ...

    I am careful with every action. Even so the points go to zero... after that ... and never go up.

    Even making alliances, etc...

    However there may be problems with the finances ...

    The scrip accumulate negative points below 0?

    Yes, you get negative points for having -money.

    Future Filmmaker, it would be useful if you could upload your save. I can see if it's OK or not on my installation.

    But there is most probably something wrong with something other than DLV, perhaps there is some trick to using m2tw on windows 7 that we're unaware of. Or even worse, a failure in it's attempt to be backwards compatible with XP.

    I don't use it yet myself, but perhaps we have someone who can confirm that DLV is working OK on 7... it would be good to hear.

    In addition to the OP, there are several things which can affect the probability of CTD in DLV. I think it's usefull to make a commen list so we can quickly solve the problem:

    • M2TW Gold version (all in one)
    • Windows Vista
    • Playing DLV with Steam
    • Manipulated M2TW files:
    • Manipulated DLV files
    • Installation fail
      • The lanuage button; unclick it if you have an english version of M2TW.
      • The right installation path; Make sure you type in the exact path for you installation.
        C:\Programfiler\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods --- (Norwegian)
        C:\Program files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods ---(English)
    Windows 7 (maybe)

    hello i'm playing 6.2 historical campaign, it's 1243 ad, few years back some (two at least) of my lords began to act in winter time like it was summer ( they barely can move in summer now) ... also some dead wifes are still "bright" in family tree, and one poor lord has no face ( it's always changing ) ...

    I'm running DLV on Win 7 and I get less CTDs comparing to Vista, so it's not the system issue. Only thing I could think of is that Future Filmmaker could have problems to run DLV when MTW 2 and DLV is not installed in XP SP 2 compability mode (or SP 3 - but IMO service pack 2 is better for the game).

    I've noticed religion distribution percentages shown at the city screen and the campaign map do not match.

    Please find an image attached. Both screens refer to the same region, Nicaea.

    Seems like a bug to me.

    EDIT: This is not a bug. The city screen always refers to the percentage difference of the dominant religion to the others (Orthodox % - Others %). While the campaign map refers to the percentage of the priest's religion (Orthodox religion)... So, I apologize, please ignore this.

    The notable Byzantine noble house Comnenus is sometimes refered to as Comnenus (Roman), and sometimes as Komnenos (Greek).

    Given the Roman-Greek background of Byzantine empire this is not a huge problem, but it would be better if it was consistant all the time.
