Thread: Want to improve my computer graphics

Default Want to improve my computer graphics

My computer exceeds the recommended system requirements for Medieval II Total War, but that doesn't stop the battles from getting choppy and even screenshot-mode-framerate during huge battles with 2,000 vs 2,000 with Huge unit scale.

I'm a little antsy about this and wanting to improve my system for this. Can someone tell me what drivers in particular I'd need to upgrade to improve visual performance on the game?

    Here are my stats:

    CPU:
    AMD Phenom(tm) 9500 Quad-Core Processor
2.20 GHz Performance Rated at 5.61 GHz
    3.0 GB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (Build Service Pack 32600)
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT (GeForce 8500 GT)
    512 MB Video RAM
    Video Card 3D Acceleration
    Pixel Shader Ver. 3.0
    LITE-ON DVD SOHD-16P9SV DVD Drive

Really as far as drivers go all you can do is go here: http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html and get the latest drivers for your video card.
What you might want to try is searching the forum for soe video settings that have helped some people like turing the shadows off, and stuff like that. Looking at your PCs specs you shouldn't be having much problems at all. I would go in the graphics settings in game and adjust a few things and test them out in custom battles until your happy. Nice rig by the way.
