Thread: Thinking of updating

    Default Thinking of updating

Hello, sorry if the thing I ask is here on this board, have been looking for awhile and can't find it. Anyway, I have Ext Realism v.3.3.3 and have played a long campaign with the Germans. I was wondering if I can update to v.3.3.4 and continue my game?

And also, I would appreciate a link to a list of improvements in v.3.3.4.

    Thank you all.

    Here you are.

    Here's the changelog for 3.3.4:

Changed Sveaby boundaries to avoid (hopefully) AI pathfinding dilemmas
Removed sword hypaspists (after a debate with Wien1938)
    Added new Bactrian spear hypaspist
Reshuffled models and textures for Etruscan and Marsi/Picene units
    Changed geography of Rhodes
    Slight script changes
Fixed one of the temple costs
    Removed several duplicate names
    Redid AP for javelin units
    Changed nature of Greece/Macedonia nerf
Increased German starting town size slightly
Added dharos's temple mod (with Vequor's Parthian temples) (fixed by Jamey)
Added Samnite AoR units to Rome for non-Roman factions
Changed German AoR slightly to give it more personality
Made Tarentine Light Cav recruitable again
Nerfed a couple of rebel cities in Britain to give the Brits a boost
Standardized unit mass, hopefully made it more relevant. (Work done by Caldarium.)
New art for Thessalian Cav cards (by Bladerunner900)
    Fixed Chaeonian Agema skeletons
    Fixed Elis hidden resource
Now more factions can build the siege engineer, e.g. Bactria. (Florin80 caught that.)
Added new models for most of KLA's hoplites with doru instead of sarissas, courtesy of Bladerunner900.
Income reduction nerf to Cyprus (temporary measure pending removal of a territory from Cyprus in the next version)
Rebalanced Roman aux. spearmen (Pannonian reminded me, but I forget who noticed this in the first place)
Redid AI formations with guidance from Aradan. Enemy generals should be slightly less suicidal now.

No, but I am considering it. Would that help anyone collaborate with me?

Working on it, anyway. I can't get it to let me log in and stay logged in. I even tried w/IE, in case my cookie settings were messing it up.

I downloaded the 3.3.4 update and manually put the various files into the various folders. Now I'm not sure if the update actually went as it was supposed to, is there a way to check what update is the most recent? All it says is "1.9 and 3.3" in the game start-up screen.

    If you downloaded from here...

A no nonsense installer for ExRM v3.3.4

then you have v3.3.4g, the latest version so far.

If you use the installer that bladerunner linked to, the shortcut will say the version (3.3.4).

Hm, i did use the 3.3.4 installer with the "g" updated version, but my shortcut showed me 3.3.3. And i had some features from 3.3.3 in game like skirmisher general bodyguards, wich weren´t supposed to be in 3.3.4 anymore. Plus i had that damn save/load problem, so i deleted the ExRM folder, reinstalled the mod and after i upgradet it manually to the "g" version, i got rid of the skirmisher bodyguards and had solved my bug problem.
I have no idea of the reason for that, but somehow the 3.3.4 installer wasn´t up to date ( my shortcut still shows me ver. 3.3.3 on my desktop btw. )

That's strange. I wonder why it did that? Good call upgrading it manually, though. That sounds like it nuked the problem.
