    Icon4 Hotseat (Multi-Campaign) - Figured how to play the Historical Campaign!

    Salut!

    For anyone who wants to play Hotseat (Multiplayer Campaign) - with the Historical campaign (superior), I finally figured how to do it

    Quite a simple procedure if done correctly,

    First - Cut and paste the contents of your imperial_campaign folder into a new one named default_imperial_backup.

    Then move this folder outside the imperial_campaign folder if you hadn't already.

    Then Cut or Copy the contents of the historical_campaign - located in 'custom' and paste them into the now empty imperial_campaign file .

    That's it all done, now when you boot up the game - select 'multiplayer' and click on hotseat it will be the Historical Campaign!

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    To correctly configure Hotseat edit your medieval2.preference.cfg file to the following; (the best .cfg setup)

    [hotseat]
    turns = 0
    scroll = 0
    autoresolve_battles = 0
    disable_console = 0
    disable_papal_elections = 0
    save_prefs = 1
    update_ai_camera = 1
    validate_diplomacy = 1

    Tip - in hotseat you can rename your faction ingame (so it's better to play Hotseat even if you are playing with 1 faction) - do this by clicking on your faction information tab, and where the name is click and you will be able to edit. I find this useful if you were playing, say England - and you migrated to Spain - hence you could rename yourself 'New Spain' etc.

    Never played Hotseat. Dont know how it is etc. And I never got the normal Mp to work either. Sad.

    Then my mind seems to allways bounce of... :/
    Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
    I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

    Thanks man. I did the basics, fixed the main hotseat CFG file. Located in ...SEGA\Medieval II Total War -folder. I also got basics zip/extract ability. But this seems very.... very slow.

    Any one with 1st hand experience on this?

    Forgot to add guys, hotseat is completley pointless in this mod - probably why it hasn't come up before,

    the reason for this is, every player apart from the hosted is treated as the 'Ai' - thus gets, money scripts etc, giving a huge unfair advantage.

    SS is good for hotseat however

    Great I wonder, could you be able to make it possible to defend in hotseat? I've seen this feature come true in both SS and KGCM, and I would love to see it in DLV too!

    EDIT: Oh, you're banned..

    Yheap, he's out. Taken by the staff for something. I can still hear him singing....

    Btw:I see DLV as The elder scrolls games, but waaaay better.

    Its very pity,nobody plays in DLV HS.
    I think in DLV most hard battles and human has a chance to lose.
    I dont know why most of gamers prefer SS mod for Hotseat.
    DLV is more nice and hard,Even I play in 5.8 version only...

    I like the hotseat too, but DLV isnt fit for hotseat, which sucks. That is because of the features of the single player campaign which also are implemented to the hotseat dcampaign. This means that all but the firts player are treated as the AI and they get perks..
