This has been discussed before, and Mordor generals will get a -7 command penalty, and a +7 command bonus when fighting night battles, to cancel it out. This also applies to the orcs of MM.

Didn't Uruks stick mostly with crossbows as opposed to regular bows?

1. You're confusing uruks with uruk-hai. They're not the same.

2. There's no evidence of uruk-hai using crossbows in the books, that's all Mr. PJ. However, they definately used bows.

I don't remember seeing orcs/Uruk-hai with crossbows in the movies do you have a screenshot or remember in which scene they appeared. There are Uruk-Hai carrying bows in the fellowship movie (beside Lurtz), you just have to look closely.

They use crossbows at Helm's Deep.

Some of these units actually look better than the vanilla M2TW units! Also the catapult trolls were an extremely pleasant surprise ^^

'Uruk' is black speech and means orc. Uruk-Hai means orc folk.

Uruk-hai are a stronger form of Uruk. Uruks are just another type of orc where as Uruk-hai are a hybird between man and orc (Well thats one of the theories). Uruk is like the entire race and Uruk-hai is a powerful species
