Glorfindel, the Lord of the House of the Golden Flower
...Glorfindel was tall and straight, his hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy, his eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music, on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength...
... the Elven-wise, lords of the Eldar from beyond the furthest seas. They do not fear the Ringwraiths, for those who have dwelt in the Blessed Realm live at once in both worlds, and against both the Seen and the Unseen they have great power...
I was thinking about units some more and came to a few ideas that could better the game. Plz, give me feedback on it.
1.) I love that bardian archers are a separate unit. However, they also act as bodygurads. While I like the idea of archer bodyguards and while bardian archers act as a superb individual unit of archers, they don't seem to fit the bodyguards in the sense that they are not heavily armored enough. The bodygurads should represent the best soldiers equipped with the best equipment. It makes no sense to waste your most talented men on standard equipment. You'll give them the best of everything.
So i propose the following. Just change their model to the noble swordsmen model. Give them heavy plate, a longsword, as they should be powerful in melee. For their primary weapon they woud use their longbows. As for a shield, they could use a buckler of esgaroth town gurads.
In essence make them armored, melee capable longbowmen.
I am slightly obsessed with longbows
most of the units look good its just on the dale spearmen the soldier pads are a little off. overall solid preview just needs a little tweaking
Good preview, Krechet!
However, I do agree with Shredder regarding those shoulder pads that look like wings and I also agree with the people who think that some colours need to be adjusted. Some are somehow too unnatural and too saturated.
Those changes shouldn't be much work and I hope you can do that.
Anyway, great work with the units.

Sorry guys... have liked everything so far but in the spirit of constructive criticism:
1) I dont like the stock lances... they are thick and jousting not battle lances
2) Faces need variation... some blone beards and some black would do the trick I believe.
Otherwise nice textures and ideas.

Good to see some people have agreed with me. I think they will look phenomenal with a few minor tweaks.
1) More face variation. I'm not sure if it was a cultural thing, but maybe some with some varied beards.
2) Are some of those one handed units using shield animations on an empty hand? Not good, or are they wielding two weapons and I just can't see them?
3) The militias' helmets could use some tweaking. I'm thinking shorten them, as currently they don't look like they could be taken off
But I just have to say that I absolutely love the shields, best looking ones I've ever seen! Keep up the good work mate.
Oh, how could I forget! Facemasks! Superb!
In fact in general the elite-er looking units all look perfect imo, its just the militias and average troops who could use some extra loving. I know I would want to put all my time on the awesome looking units, but just a few tweaks and it'll be all up to spec.

Agreed, shields are the best shields seen so far. As well as those longswords on noble swordsmen. Breathtaking. I've already pointed out how facemasks are cool.
I am slightly obsessed with longbows
2 King-Kong: as I found this variant with shoulder styraps is most optimal but probably I have to change their shape. And OK. I'll work a bit more thih textures. I agry what sash'es of Militia(for example) are a bit bright

Indeed King Kong is the lord and master of moddeling on this team closely followed by Shredder.
but Krechet did a really good job on these units, although there are some minor issues, regarding colour and diversity, I really think he did a fantastic job. one which can only improve along the way. so +rep for the job so far.
about the Bardian Archers, no I do not think they should be these heavily armoured powerhouses, adding heavy armour to archers is pointless, good archers need to be flexible to be on their best. I believe Bard himself didn't wear anything more then leather and perhaps some mail. although it has been a while since I read the Hobbit.
as for Beornings, will you make these units bigger then normal humans, seeing beorn and his kinsmen were a few feet bigger then normal humans, or is that not possible?
( that goes the same for any future Dunedain ( rangers ) )
Again nice work, and bring out the Mordor Bandwagon soon!!
haha no, maybe you're the best modeller... But it's just that we haven't seen a preview from you
Computer crashed... SAD
You haven't seen work of DG and Alletun, they are amazing like Mithrandir said, same level as KK.
There's a nice little sneak peek at Rhun....... I like!!! Of course I (and everybody else) would like to see more, but that already has me smiling.
I think a couple of the Dale units have a little too much full-plate armour, and some of the helmets are a little too bright. Shields look great though.

Really the amount of talent on this team is staggering. King Kong, Goat, Shredder, Allentun, etc... it's downright scary.
I am truely terribly sorry!!
it is just that indeed I have not seen any work of DG and Alletun yet, but seeing the signature of DG, ow my will we be in for a treat.
I hope thou can forgive me!
