    I dont know if these are causing the problem but,

    first lightsabre i would have as two words light_sabre

    try changing the picture to something that matches the type

    again thats what i asked earlier about blank lines the other entries have a blank line at the end. No idea if this makes a differance but no harm inserting one.

    The trigger is good its what i am using and it works

    What do you have in export_ancillaries.txt

    Thanks for the suggestions, Alex-ander. I'd rather keep it as "lightsaber" right now to keep things simpler (and to adhere to Star Wars canon ). I tried changing the picture to an icon used by the Military type and adding the space below the ancillary, but the changes didn't work. The log still says the same thing. Here's a screenshot of the relevant text in my export_ancillaries.txt file:



    EDIT: I got it to work! I moved the entire block of text in export_descr_ancillaries.txt down to the bottom of all the listed ancillaries but before their triggers. M2TW can be so picky sometimes

    your absolutely right. thats why I often tell people, just delete and put back in the EXACT same thing, because sometimes your not wrong, sometimes M2TW is just on the rag.

    I have got my wise man ancillary to work,

    Less luck with the trait the mod loads ok there and runs with no problems. But when the trigger fires (winning a battle) i get a CTD. I cant see anything wrong with the code and i am begining to wonder if the mod is the problem.

    Alex-ander, did you try giving the trait to one of your generals when a new game is started? This might be easier to test. Also, put your trigger at the very bottom of the triggers list. I had to move my trait from the top down to the bottom in order for it to work.

    This course has been a blast. It was definitely not a walk in the park by any means, and many roadblocks challenged my patience time and again. I've learned a lot about collaborating with other members to find a problem and how to juggle real-life projects with these assignments. I've also learned that I need to be the person doing the most work to find a bug. Sometimes that means moving things around or starting over from scratch. You know what they say, though - "If at first you don't succeed..." As corny as it sounds, it really works. I know this stuff isn't rocket science, but many things aren't intuitive, and M2TW can be fussier than a teenage girl You guys have been great

    GrnEyedDvl, thanks for the great lessons and help in debugging all those strange problems. Thanks to you, I've learned that the only "algorithm" that is certain to work if all else fails is 'scrap it and start anew'. Thank you for your guidance

    I'll check in every other day or so to see if I can help anyone finish the course. Good luck to the rest of the class. Don't give up!

    Just from scanning over it thats what i can see wrong. Here's what i would suggest, hopefully your using Notepad ++. Have open your mod traits, your vanilla traits, your mod vnv and your vanilla vnv. and switch between these (ctrl + tab) to make sure everything adds up (as far as how terminoligy is used), same with the ancillaries. Sometimes you have some descrepinces between the files. like in your ancs file you have university_mastor_desc, where it should be university_mastor_effects_desc, but in your description file you have them written corretly.

    your triggers for ancs go in the ancs file also, not the EDCTs. The files are set up the same way where the traits/ancs are at the top and the triggers are at the bottom.

    cut that trigger out of the traits file and add it to the EDA flie and it should work fine. I dont see any other issues with it.

    The log acts like the only problem is the description, but i think its confused.
