Icon9 Help me! Serious Rome Total War issues!

My Rome total war game has developed a huge fault, i can not get to the actual battle screen. The screen with the quote and the red loading bar appears and fills up but when it finishes i get the message that "Rome Total War has experienced an error and has been forced to close down... etc". I thought uninstalling and restalling would work but it just made it worse as icant complete the prologue as i cant get the battle you have to fight and win!

There must be some tec genius' on here who can help me out. Even if there is nothing i can do, would buying a new copy of it work?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    :hmmm:

The only way i could fight battles was by simulating them. As i can simulate the prologue battle i am totally screwed.

    Any suggestions?

    1. Unistall RTW
    2. Make sure the /Activision/Rome: Total War/ folder is completely deleted
    3. Run CCleaner. Clean both files and the registry.
    4. Install RTW.

    Hope that works...

    have you patched it ?
like lets say the default patch for an RTW install ( not gold version)
is i believe 1.4 retail version of the game without barbarian invasion pack...
what you should do ... is patch it to version 1.5 ...
    re install the whole thing...
    then install patch 1.5 ...
cuz i know patch 1.6 is the one that barbarian invasion installs when it installs itself...
i would give ya a link right now... but i dont hve it right now...
    imma look for it

    NEVERMIND...
    i mistaken patch 1.4
    you need this http://www.gameborder.com/game/Rome:...20patch%201.3/
    named patch 1.3

check ur patch if its 1.2 ... if it is... download that patch 1.3 and then install after uninstalling then re installing RTW ...
i hope it works my friend =)...

Try uninstalling, turning vistas User Account Control off in the security center and then reinstalling.
