HOI2 - CRUIZERGS

I just tried that poor man's fleet setup of Cruizergs.

2 CLE
4 CA
12-16 CL

And I thrashed the Japanese Kido Butai with:
3 heavy carriers (forgot)
4 BB
4 CL
X DD

Must say I'm very proud of myself but realized that carriers are broke in this game. And that escort carriers are also broke.

I generally just build Navel Bomber all the way.

The only navy I have is transport and later with all fancy nuclear ships (carrier, sub, battleship, cruiser).

The objective is to have the entire fleet come within firing range at the same time. =P
And Cruizerg fleets do that very well.
Plus they get produced like Zerg units.

Is there a guide anywhere that talks about cruizerging and other things? Don't link to the wiki! It doesn't get into the real meat of things.

Mmm...

I am not a navy expert (my French Navy just go crushed by Italian Navy... complete destroyed with only 6 light cruiser left) but generally Cruizergs should have either battlecruiser/heavy cruiser, light cruiser, destroyer and submarine; may want to put some battleship but generally not welcome.

Anyway, not a big fan of navy; a some 40 units fighting on water is far less impressive than a land battle involving 100+ divisions (which my current France campaign involves; I let Soviet overgrow and now I try to kick Russian out from Germany... with only some 40 divisions... Soviet probably has 100+ divisions in Europe now and another 400+ in else where...).

That is a poor man's fleet. No gimmicks.

Most lopsided defeat I have ever seen!

Just happened...I was sad I had to retreat but GB brought in the heavy guns...Guess they were sore about me sinking all their Cruisers...

Edit: It was a 20 ship fleet of heavy and light cruisers with a CVL.After I killed most of that fleet, another fleet rolled up to play, and I beat a hasty retreat. I will most likely try to swing up north and try and find that battered fleet and beat it up some more.

Edit: Swung North and found myself a battered British SAG

KMS Tirpitz the most deadly ship on the ocean?

Edit: You may notice the Deutschland has been sunk...different battle...boy was I furious...it was sunk just before hour 4...when I could have made a hasty retreat...grrr....
