Poems of Arda

Of Feänor
Feänor, woe, Lord of the Noldor
Stripped from the shine of the Valar's Light
Casted his brethren unto their doom
For against Melkor they should forever fight
Sons of the Cursed, seven in all
Defended the Oath, sworn on Tirion's wall
Be he Elf or man, slave or king
Who touches a Silmaril, doom they shall bring
The sting of a sword, forged in Aman itself
And the burning of hate shall the traitor feel
Whoso possess a Silmaril, or find or steal
The days of Arda shall forever be marked
By Feänor's deeds and the Grinding Ice
Though in the end it must be known
That treason
Still has its price

Of Morgoth/Melkor
Morgoth the Black, scorn of the Valar
Child of Eru, who is Father of all
Descended upon Arda from Eternal Valinor
To corrupt, destroy, undo and marr
Wisest of all the Valar was he
And the most powerful one as well
Yet he betrayed Eru, wanting to be free
Yet this is known, so I must not tell
Of the pain and suffering caused by Him
From the fate of Turín to the death of the Trees
Morgoth alone brough the Eldar to their knees
Ending with the Battle of Unnumbered Tears
To the strength of the Elves Melkor would not bend
Yet against all odds, hope remains
For to all Evil like this
There will come an end

Of Elrond
Elrond of Imladris, which is often called Rivendell
Son of Elwing and Eärendil, noblest of kin
Founded a haven, safe for Man and Elf
In Rhudaur, greenest of lands, free of sin
On the falls of Bruinen, under the red sun's cover
It was a place for Elves to dwell and recover
In the Third of Ages, it was the house of Arwen
And later also of Aragorn, great king of Men
Vilya is the Ring that Elrond keeps
The cause of Rhudaur's splendour and light
Though it was only used for things fair and right
A great warrior too he was called
Hadhafang he wielded, sword of Elven steel
And though at Dagorlad, the Ring's fate was stalled
The fury of Elrond
Darklord Sauron surely did feel
