    Default Questions (V1-V3 )

    D-loaded the mod, but it wont load up to play. I click on the exe file and I only get a quick glimpse of the dos load and then nothing happens.

    Any ideas?

    Move the dos file into the Medieval 2 root folder...where the kingdoms.exe is located.

    I have the same problem and moving the dos doesn't change anything...

    Do you have your game unpacked, have you installed other mods, just so I know where we are starting from, file is solid, many have installed and had working already. Id like help you get this working but I ned to know where we are starting from,

    Your mod looks awesome, i am just downloading it
    but i have a few questions
    1. Is there custom music ?
    2. Do you have to unpack the game files before installing this ?
    3. How many factions are implented in the downloadable version ? / How far is the mod developed at this point ?
    4. What about screenshots (there are only a few in the readme document) ?

    1. Currently the music is vanilla + kingdoms (this is likely to be updated in next update)
    2. I built the game on a unpacked platform, so I have no way of knowing how it will perform on an unpacked game
    3. 20playable, 21 including papal staes who were accidently left as playable, but they arent really playable, due to lack of techtee, ships ect, this will be corrected in first patch
    4. Screen shot sections will be added to the forum threads in time,

    The mod is complete, only bugs are a couple of incorrect skins, which have had tempory patches applied in the main thread
    Lots of new units, lots of reskins

    cool. If this mod is only as half as good as it sounds to me, it will be my new favourite medieval 2 mod (even before stainless steel)
    I will try it tomorrow (the download takes soooo much time )

    The download is large because the mod makes substantial changes to almost every facet of the game, I hope you find the experience it offers, justifies the file size

    Stainless Steel is a truly epic mod, it was the mod that first got me intereasted in modding, I personally feel the whole TW community owes King Kong a great debt for the immense gaming experience he has provided us all with,

    i´ve played it several times and i ask for some possibility to change names of some units without some negative effects of errors in the game. and i know the descr ...

    Im new to the mod, but not new to Hotseats (Ive been playing them for a while now and Im in pretty much every SS6.0 HS there is).
    Anyways Ill join this, cant beat a good HS,
    Ill be the Kingdom of Avalon.

    i know the descr unit file, where i could change attacks, formations stats ect ect...
    but i would like to change names for some units, only for myself, but i am not sure if that change is applicable in the descr unit file with any other possible negative effects - that the renamed unit turns to be "unknown" for the game and such...

    Please be aware as soon as you self mod this work, I cannot offer any support to any problems you encounter, as I cannot compare it to my working copy.

    There is little that can go wrong modding the exports_unit text file, but I am attaching this caveat to everyone who alters the mod in anyway.


    @Caki, I suggest we steer clear of explaining how to mod the exisiting files, all the info people need to know is located within the mod workshop forums.

    We need to concentrate on identifying and fixing any errors or bugs that maybe hidden away in the mod. I understand completely that you are trying to help people, and that is comendable, but from previous experience on my other mod, you can start helping people tinker with the work, then things go wrong, and you feel hounour-bound to help them correct errors of there own making.
