    10 entries, 7 voters.

Do we have three under 50 post members of the totw?

No, only one newbie in week 18 and 18B tales. I started posting in TOTW 9 and had less then 50 posts, and still I came second. Its good that newbies are getting into TOTW so we can have a wider variety of people with different ideas to the picture.

Yeah, I thought both of my stories this week were quite good. >_> I think in every TOTW I've entered so far, I've either came second or third.

    My choices this week (drumroll)...

    Marius, because of its eloquence.

Shut up and Drive, why? because it's got rhythm man!

Victory at Mohács, because it's mine all mine (and because Sacha offered me a silver Thaler).

Hope you won't mind that I'm very pleased with Victory at Mohács, being a Hungarian myself. I think this story utilized the best what the picture had to offer (considering the small details like the shields as well).

The use of duel as ordeals (or trial by combats) to decide the battles was very common in Medieval ages. It was reportedly used in the siege of Eger in 1552, after the situation became a stalemate for both sides. The Magyar soldier won the duel, but the Ottomans refused to lift the siege. (Of course they didn't, as they outnumbered the defenders 100 to 1 ). Too bad for them... they could have marched off with honour.

I should also add that the original story of Mohács isn't any more 'realistic'. According to the legend, King Lajos (Louis) was drown into a creek (now named Lajos-creek) during retreating from the battlefield.

[trolling]On a side note I can't help but notice the latent anti-Semitism of Juvenal's story, as Cohen is admittedly a Jewish name.

    Just kiddin'.

    [/trolling]

The other stories were nice and well written too. I liked Sensi's tale, maybe because the Drunken Knight reminded of Drunken Fist from Forbidden Kingdom.

Well done everyone, +rep shower ASAP.

    Allright, listen lads:

I did not introduce the Multivote option so that people still continue voting ONLY for themselves.

I include the possible voting combinations in every Vote thread -
for the following TotW Contests everyone who does not follow these and insists in only voting for himself will have his vote removed, easy as that.
It's not too difficult being a bit fair

What about people that vote for themselves and for one that they think has no chance of winning, so it wouldnt be competition? I had actually planned to do that, but decided not to its unfair. But people might be doing that. *looks around.

There seem to be lots of Hungarians on these boards. I am clearly going to have to take this into account in future stories. :hmmm:

Ah... well that was the purpose of my disclaimer about witticism. My von Scharnhorst-Cohen character is an obvious agent, so I gave him a name that would have been (almost) impossible in the HRE by making him a Jew with the title of Ritter (Knight). I also found his anti-stereotypical act of handing out money to be ironically amusing (Yes, I know I should get out more).

@Manoflooks - I liked your story, it worked rather well. Humour is a delicate flower which depends on serendipity and can't always be produced to order.

Now who's going to be the finisher of this? This week the votes are even. I liked it, the tension.
