Comment? I tried to follow the logic before this moved and I am confused. They are talking past each other and not focusing on a central idea -- or so it seems to this confused soul. If someone can give a one or two short paragraph synopsis of the issue -- I will be most grateful.

I advocate the execution of corrupt politicians yet I don't get in trouble, this is because I advocate changing laws what you advocated was the murdering of Stephen Harper and even if it was in a joking context we just don't joke about murdering politicians it can get a person in a lot of trouble.

not too much to comment on now. however, i think the main point Exarch missed is that it doesn't matter if HE saw his post as a joke, it matters if a reasonable person, and esp. moderation, saw it as a joke. considering the lack of context, and the nature of the statement regardless, it cannot be seen as a joke.

the simple fact is if Exarch wanted it taken as a joke, he should have done a better job of making it look like a joke. hell just put JOKE in huge letters at the end if you can't be bothered to properly word it to take out ambiguity. discussing the murder of someone is not the place for any ambiguity. it is obvious that talks of assassination are taken far more seriously then other breaks in the TOS, and the not so distant past on this site would clearly show the mods take a very firm stance against it.

Yeah...no guys, from this point on, the commentary threads are not for continuation of the debate/fight. Anything you got to say to each other goes in your thread. This is for everyone else.

I'm kind of annoyed that the semantics issue has prolonged for so long in that little comment about jesus. Both posters are clearly intelligent enough to know that the comment can be interpreted BOTH ways given the ambiguity of the english language. Though they tack onto it because of it's rhetorical value. I wish debates weren't so "dogfightish" all the time.
