The Eras Total Conquest mod allows the player to start their campaign at one of 10 different times, these are 970, 1080, 1200, 1220, 1230, 1300, 1331, 1400, 1453, 1500, and 1547. Each campaign contains different factions, faction start positions, and levels of technology.
Though the first Crusade brought great success for the Crusaders, the next four crusades achieved little. But after the sixth crusade Jerusalem is once again under Christian control, thanks to the diplomacy of the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II. Constantinople is also under Christian control as part of the Latin Empire, however the Eastern Roman Empire is not prepared to let foreigners remain in their capital and are prepared to take it back by force. However a new power is emerging in the east, the Mongolian Empire. Though they have lost their leader Genghis Khan they have not lost their will to fight and expand their Empire further into Asia and Europe.

At the start of this mod Light Mail or Lamellar are the strongest armour available to the player and most of the infantry available wield spears. Cannons will become available later on.

The failure of the Crusades and the loss of the Holy Lands has been a bitter blow to many Christians. However a new Crusade had begun in Central Europe to convert the Lithuanian Pagans to Christianity. Though some have joined this Crusade many are preparing to fight against what they consider to be greater enemeies. To the East the Golden Horde has begun expanding to the Kingdoms of Poland and Hungary, while in the South the Ottoman Empire is continuing to expand into Roman lands. However there is an even greater threat looming that may destroy the whole world.

After their victory at the Battle of Mühlberg the Habsburgs now have considerable influence over the world. The Holy Roman Emperor, the king of Austria, the King of Spain are all members of this family and support it's ideals. However the Habsburgs still have two enemies which threaten Catholicism. The first is the Muslim Ottoman Empire, which has been expanding into Europe and will begin annexing the Austrian Habsburgs' land unless they're stopped. The second are the northern Protestant countries. To protect Catholicism it may be necessary to go to war with these countries to show them whose side God is really on.

your mod sounds great; although I have not been able to test it…
I downloaded the mod, unpacked it and copied the files from the Conquest folder into the Medieval II folder. After selecting an era, the game starts. After choosing a faction (only one) the game jumps to the screen where you pick either “Tutorial, Grand Campaign, Custom Battle, Quick Battle or Historical Battle”. Patch 1.2 is installed. It’s the same whether picking crusade era or renaissance era.
There was a minor error in the descr_strat.txt file, so the mod wouldn't load (though the Custom Battles still worked). To fix it download the patch in the first post.
stefaneke the map in the 1230 and 1346 campaigns was originally made by Miak, though I edited it a lot. Though the map for the 1547 campaign was made by me.
Hi Uanime5. I downloaded and copied everything OK, but when I try to load either era through the .bat file, the files get copied but then the window closes and the game never starts. I am using Vista and have also tried right-clicking to run as administrator, but this did not solve the problem. Any ideas? Thanks.
Edit: I have to have the expansion, Kingdoms, installed too right?

another excellent project from one of the best modders ever to bless the TWC.I am greatly looking forward to the 1547 campaign, which will surely be yet another masterstroke of genious.on that note, how about using some of the Valkyrie units from 4 seasons for the late renaissance campaign????Historical, probably not, very very cool, absolutely, and besides, the gunpowder units from that faction sport uniforms that are rather spot on,embellished, but spot on for the time period that it will be covering.Just a thought, and once again, excellent work!!!

It's a Kingdoms mod, so you need Kingdoms installed.

These units won't appear in the campaign because they're not historically accurate, though I could add them to the Custom Battles if I don't go over my unit limit.
Hello, Uanime, i try to play a campaign with the bizantine empire ( renaissance era), and when i clik start the game returns me to the menu. I need help.
I have also istalled the eras mod, is this the reason of the problem, thanks for the mod
Hi again uanime5. I installed Kingdoms, but it updated M2TW from the 1.2 in your instructions to 1.3. Does this matter? I'm still having the same problem, even after adding the file you linked in this thread. I open the .bat file and enter 1 or 2. Then it goes through the list of files being copied, but at the end the window closes and nothing happens. I have been doing this as the administrator (Vista). I have also tried this once with the M2TW disc and again with the Kingdoms disc in the drive.
Do you have any other ideas as to what is not working? It seems like a pathing issue, but I get the same results regardless of whether the conquest folder is in the "mods" folder or outside, in the general M2TW file. Thanks.
